Goodwin returned!

Again. >.>

I have a hard time staying on one project, but this time, I'm probably here for good!

As such, I was wondering, with Traitor's Hate, have any of you been running Vindi's or Preds in squadrons?  I find a wall of Vindicator Siege Shields to look so awesome, but I've got the funds to probably grab 3 of one or the other.  Has either one been standing out for you guys?

The Iron Warriors painting competition nears its end, and in honour of the 4th legion’s great effort the 34th Inspirational Friday topic of 2016, running from today until the 16th of December, is dedicated to the Iron Warriors.

So how about them Legion rules?

I'm super inspired to pick work back up on my Oblits and Muties conversions. Not sure about list building yet. I haven't played my CSM since 6th edition but I've a feeling the 49th Grand Company will be marching into battle very soon.

Rules look awesome for IW in the Traitor legions supplement, might put my HH Iron Warriors army on hold and press on with my 40k army instead.

Now just have to wait to see if January brings us new CSM kits with abandon looking to be on the cover of WD....I'll just buy vindicators while I wait!

I'm reading and rereading the iron warriors rules and I'm starting to think "eh?". You do appear to be dg lite. Thier decurian just doesn't seem to work (rerolling barrage in an army with no barrage). In CAD it could work.

Well as someone has said you would need a fortification that has earthshakers or similar to make use of the rules in the detachment. Not impossible and would be cool if they came out with some kind of artillery position/fortification

Just a quick question for those who've been keep a eye on the Traitor Legion rumour.

I saw that we get a wargear - Siege Breaker, there one that S10 Ap1.  Is there anything posted if this is unwieldy??

Gutted I'll not have my Mark of Khorne, Axe of Blind Fury & Mark of Nurgle.  But I've really like what I've seen & maybe time I finial got around making fortifaction, also I've been meaning to get my gaming table that home sorted to try get more games on the go.

I'm looking to use Traitor Legion that the Warhammer World, Throne of Skulls Tarot event next year.  Not quite sure what I want to use beyound always take the models I think look cool & will enjoy useing during the event.

It appears only BL can do the mixed mark, and mixed cult, while I think Word Bearers can just mix marks. I may have that wrong but it does look like you can't play the detachment with MoN obliterators for example.

Honestly I'm fine with that. It's how loyalists Detachments work too.

There is a possibility of an auxiliary we don't know about. Like the Black Crusade one with a cult squad option.

I know this sounds corny but I love the idea of 3 fortifications in the detachment.

I don't know as I haven't got the book just yet. But just bear in mind we can stilluse marked/cult units outside of the formations, thay just don't get the benefits. It was something I was worried about at first but now not so much.

At any rate I'm pleased with the reviews and will certainly be getting Traitor Legions as soon as possible, if only for the fluff.

I just can't get over how cool taking 1-3 Fortifications is. In looking at my Planetary Onslaught book, some fortifications are single entries I believe, but they feature 1-3 sub entries of Fortifications.

So that would mean you could basically throw down your own portable fort, and add some of those new wheel looking things that have the bonus to Plasma.... Iron Warriors firing the Oblit weapons with CoD and able to use the same weapon twice means LOTS of Plasma large blasts.

It looks like a lot of fun.

Well, thanks to the big, IF vs IW painting throw down we just had, I'm inspired to add some IW to my CSM. I think 20 mk3 guys from burning of Prospero should make a good start eh?
I get why we get fortifications assigned to us as one of our things, but I am much more interested in tearing down fortifications with my Iron Warriors. Give me tanks and robots and big guns, and the room to move and shoot with them.

Seriously those MKIII dudes are perfect. They have the look, and even if GW came out with new models tomorrow, I doubt they would beat the stoic, traditional siege look of those BoP models.

Absolutely. Honestly I haven't seen IW Artefacts but those 1-3 Fortifications have possibilities. The truth is though that I feel like it would have been fantastic for them to also allow a FW unit like a CAD.

I haven't played my IW in eons, but this does look like a fun detachment combined with the Traitor's Hate stuff, like CoD, or Drake Wing, or.... fill in the blank. Lots to look at here.

Yeah, now I feel like I have to get betrayal at calth so I can dive the mk4 between my templars, fists and word bearers, just to give all the cataphractii terminators to my iron warriors just because everyone in this threads IW cataphractii look amazazing!

Yes I know I can buy the CTs seperately now,but we are trying to be economical... right?

FELLOW WARSMITHS!

I, Warsmith Aznable, have claimed my 13th Octed Award writing of the glories of the sons of Perturabo for the long-running and glorious Inspiration Friday contest thread!

As such, and most appropriately, it falls upon me, a Warsmith and loyal son of the Iron Lord, to judge the current contest themed upon tales of the glorious IV Legion.

Participation has been dwindling of late, and I call upon all of you to not let your gene-sire down. Submit a story in the current contest so that the tales of the IVth do not go untold, so that the tales of the IVth are not told by outsiders, so that the tales of the IVth are not told by jealous enemies.

Let's show this forum what the Lords of Medrengard are about!
