Ordo Xenos intercept

***Static***

Eldar pirates encountered on the agri world of Wordsley. Blood Angels commissioned to cleanse world of threats.

Reports indicate that the mission was a success, despite the brutal assault of the Blood Angels Death Company force causing untold devastation. Surviving populace is due reconditioning and transits are already en route with new supplies.

My lord, I recommend an investigation into the nature of the Death Company. Whilst useful, these so-called madmen are not what nature intended and there are whispers of further atrocities...

Battle report here.

Today I updated the Six Up Sax blog with the details of our trip to Warhammer world and put up bios for the main characters in Black Maru's Order of Redemption.

Tomorrow I play the next league game against Paul, pitting the Redeemers agains Paul's Carnival of Flies.

Was painting with Fortress Grey last night and finished the it off before "work" this morning. Almost there! Painting with Chaos black this evening, doing banding, weapon casings, etc.

Remaining colours for my ETL vow:

  • Chaos Black
  • Goblin Green
  • Mephiston Red
  • Enchanted Blue (again - I forgot to put the base colour on the Jump Pack's OSL)
  • Bleached Bone
  • Skull White
  • Golden Yellow/Bad Moon Yellow/Sunburst Yellow
  • Mithril Silver

Oh, and I got told off by a Moderator for my Signature breaching the rules. We aren't allowed two banks of images apparently...

Finishing shading on the single apothecary model I thought I'd be clever and vow, expecting to finish it early in the competition (Ha!). While I'm enjoying how he is turning out I will be happy not to paint any primarily white models for a while. I suspect I'll do the vanguard vet squad I'm vowing next in much less time...

Today 2nd edition meets 7th edition. Some old metal bodies getting an update. First completed is a heavy flamer dude, with a flamer and hand flamer Sgt in progress.

ETL is also progressing well, with Corbulo and Lemartes almost finished.

Double post but, some keen eBaying really paid off ;)

Classic Rhino, basically new Vindi, Tac squad that will need only a bit of black, some highlights and re-basing to my chapter and one of the best Chaplains models in finecast undercoated and ready to go into my Relic Guard (Sanguinary Guard count-as)

Also got a classic metal Libby on the way to!

Suppose I should add a spot of Bronzed Flesh to that... Still, should be done this week!

Hi guys!

I was recently made aware of the existence of this thread, so I figure I'll join my fellow BA hobbyists in this parade of great models! Some very inspiring models you guys have put out, great to see!

I am just returning to the hobby after a 1-year break. Some of you may have seen my models in my own old BA wip thread in the WIP section of the forum. Here are some shots of my force commander (still lacking his backpack and banner however) and my first assault marine:

With a little luck i'll have my first ETL Vow done this evening!

Got bits happy on eBay and got the pieces to make some Priests (love the new chalise!) and one of the sweet DA power swords to be Valours Edge/ Dante Count-as weapon! Also a tonne of plain shoulder pads to Dilute and finish off my Meltacide/ eventual Tac Squad. Really trying to get into the hobby so I can get a nice looking list and some games in!

@Luthermax: Thanks! I use merchite red for a basecoat, highlighting with blood red and finally firey orange. Shades are done with washes of thraka green and abaddon black.

@Tortura: Great model! I love your metals, how did you paint the brass/gold parts?

Painted up a test model for Knights of Blood tactical terminators. Going with the standard scheme left me with too much silver on the termies so I added red to the shin guards.

I was going to give the eye-lenses a greenish glaze, but I really like how they pop with just pure white. It's noticeable even from across the table.

Tnx man!

Gold:

Base: Mix of Vallejo model air Polished Gold and GW Gehenna Gold 1:1

Shade: Wash of GW Agrax Earthshade followed by a thinned wash of GW Seraphim Sepia (1:3 wash/water), followed by a glaze of thinned Vallejo model air Burnt Umber (not the whole part, concentrating on deeper parts of the model). Last shading is done with Army painter strong tone (only deepest shadows)

Highlights: First the gold parts were re touched with the base mix after which more Polished Gold was added in 2 further steps (1:2, 1:3). Final highlights and little 'hot spots' were done with Vallejo Metal Medium, by placing tiny dots on edges and shadow parts in order to create a quite shiny effect.

Hope it helps!

Cheers.
