I also broke and ordered Zephon. And also plan on cannibalizing as many parts from him as passible.

Regarding the new Primaris Champion - I'm not a fan of the Hollywood/chinese martial arts pose. BT one also doesn't ring my bells. If we get to use one, I will either be delegating my Indomitus Judiciar for the duty or will build something on my own.

Very nice work, Rhavien! Simple, but effective

the pose is actually a real guard stance with longsword, the power sword being used is just a bit too small for it to make sense.
Unless you're referring to the Italian traditions (which I'm not very well versed in), it's looks to me like some weird position halfway between Schlussel (Key) and Lange Ort (longpoint). As a guard, it doesn't look particularly structurally sound to me either, though on a power armored super soldier things might be different!

I definitely agree that the blade seems a bit short for twohanding.

Aaaaaah I see it now, you're right. He is just posed like he is left-handed (which is probably no issue for a trained SM, but feels strange for a right-handed guy like me). It would be then a left-handed version of the inside right guard

I'm no expert, but I found this on the net:

Check the second row, second stance from the right. It would be defensive guard, a variation of the German 'Ochs', which supposedly could have  took form of sword being held at chest level and even lower, but with point directed towards opponent head or throat.
I got the picture from the Iron Thorn (https://terrasylvae.com/iron-thorn/iron-thorn-courses/longsword-intermediate-course-iron-thorn-manual-1st-edition/)

I see. It doesn't look like they adhere to the historical manuals from the medieval and Renaissance periods, though if what they do is effective and they're having fun there's certainly nothing wrong with that.

I've been teaching german Renaissance swordsmanship for almost ten years (and know where to look to find resources on the Italian tradition) and I didn't recognize some of those.

While I think they're eschewing a fair bit of nuance for the sake of brevity, but if you've got a free ten minutes these are pretty good demonstrations of the German Longsword guards.

Yes, Schrankhut does look awkward, but I actually enjoy fighting from it.

Agreed!

I’m currently building a few of the special edition chaps, that bladeguard lieutenant and the sergeant with necrons on base. Pondering nice bits to BA them up a bit. Suggestions?

Also have the new ancient and captain and will try and build those with bits from Zephon when he arrives

Given I know your skill, you could dry the dual sides of the chaps with green stuff and muscle fiber one side. Or you could be much more subtle on the chaplains and just do up some wind swept hair. This is tedious, but sometimes I would shave the grails off the bolt pistols from the DC box to give extra bling to some of the armor. Alternatively you could add some blood drops to bike chasis, or armor wouldnt be bad.

For the walking chaplain definitely add some hair. I've had a right proper mind to alter mine using the skeleton from the ancient, add a grail from the upgrade sprue and see how well I could possibly add some hair to the old vet sergeant head with a half metal face as homage to the artwork from the older editions.

Blade guard work best with transfers and free hand. You could switch the shield with a 3D printed one. I've seen that done to great effect, or you could simply replace the shield on his pauldron.

Dug out another ATV mario-cart and trying to make it look better. Wanted to do a cage for the driver but abandoned the idea for now as main gun would have to be placed significantly higher). Added a chainsword to the gunner for some chariot vibes instead :tongue.:

Today my BAs managed to snatch the victory from the claws of a Genesteler Cult by the dint of sheer luck HEROIC BOLDNESS of the 1st Company.
A single charge from deepstrike teleport when all seemed lost turned the tide and allowed for the ultimate victory of the Angels.
One would say: bussiness as usual and yet another day in the Chapter ;)
