Thanks for all the comments guys! glad to know i'm not the only one happy with him.

Okay, how did you make that helm.  I must know.

It's the original skull helmet from the Knight kit, the lower jaw is from the ogre kingdoms banner. Pretty simple conversion but i think it works.

Now.... future plans. The Night lords are being delayed whilst i get my battle plan sorted. All i know at present is i want the following in my 2k army;

Knights;

Knight Paladin

Knight Acheron
Knight Castigator

Knight Errant

Marines;
Either a fireraptor or similar with a squad. I'm actually looking at the space wolves codex because of its drop-barge. I never thought that would happen.

Dear sweet Emperor is that left pauldron creepy.

The knight looks good.

Even if I feel this kit's overrated and ubiquitous. tongue.png

Yeah the plastics are a bit limited. i'm buying the FW ones because, apparently, they are much easier to pose and make unique. This knight was a sod, and all i did was rebuilt the crotch and reposition the feet.

Time for an update on the knight. I won't lie, this is some of my favourite work to date.

I think you've got this weathering thing *down* like a champ happy.png

Thank you m'lady. Grimdark is my chosen painting style and i'm going to constantly practise painting until i have it flawless.

what do we think?

I think we hate you and your magnificent weathering skills. That's just mind-censored.gif ing-blowing.

ETA: That might have sounded funnier in my head. No hate for you, skrall, just awe at your work.

i take it as a compliment of the highest order, i'm always trying to improve my style and the knights are a perfect canvas.

Everything you've posted here is very impressive - the Knight really looks like a piece of heavy machinery.

I'm surprised you didn't get more compliments on Horus - that's an amazing version of that model. I particularly like how rich the colors are; sometimes all the highlights on models that detailed seem to wash out the main colors and you've done a great job avoiding that.

The only thing I would criticize is the thickness of the lightning on the Nightlord on the first page. Based on the freehand you've shown, I think you can get these lines thinner and crisper.

Ah yes.... the lightning. my fine detail brush is knackered (in fact that's a polite way to describe it) so i'm waiting on a new one before i do any more VIII Legion.

Thanks for the compliments though guys. I do love weathering... it's my thing. Totally my thing.

Now for a post that will result in my lovely night lord friends want to drag me into the back of the van and flaying me.

The Vlka Fenryka have come. May i present a grey hunter, one of the Jarl of Ellefta's men. I've wanted to do a scheme for the Vlka for a while, but this is the first time i've actually sat down and given it a go. I think i've got him looking suitably brutal without going over the top on runic devices and pelts for a first mini.
