Also Order of Our Martyred Lady with blue accents. Never saw that before.

You mean blue highlights? The 'Eavy Metal painter Kirsten Williams paints Our Martyred Lady that way, if I'm not mistaken.

I guess I'm just used to the far older ones from 2nd ed where the accents were silver for every order (as far as I can recall at least).

Check the battle report from when they released the 2nd part of the White Dwarf dex, blue accents all over.
But not on the iconography. They only used blue to highlight the black:

So I missed an image last time. On the page prior to Canoness Grace is this:

Sisters may be dying it it, but it's the only official image I can think of where they're actually shown fighting another faction instead of something outside of the the viewer's line of sight.

Actually, other than the Seraphim being gropled, the Sisters are doing pretty well there. Can't see any dead or dying.

Or think of an official art for Sisters where the enemy is in shot, thinking about it.

I think it's actually safe to say the one being grappled there has a good chance of being dead or dying (crushed by pressure leading to organ damage, cracked or broken ribs (which can puncture the liver, heart and lungs) and even potentially a broken spine, but at least she's not being impaled as you know people would be making "jokes" about it), but even if a Seraphim is dying it's not a bad image (frankly I think 40k images showing forces clashing should have casualties on both sides if possible). If we get more of these then Sisters would look a lot more like an active part of the setting, which would be awesome.

Hang on, new coloured artwork of the battle sisters? And it's not Martyred Lady?

GW must be increasing their trolling of Sisters players, the new CEO obviously decided the 7 year old rumour of plastic sisters surfacing every few months was not working like it used to and that they needed something new to keep us ambivalent towards them.

wow, this is some neat artwork though. Seems like those sisters are having a bit of a bug problem.

I agree, only one sister is actively dead/dying - and she's still swinging a power sword at the thing that has her grappled. To be fair though, seeing the overwhelming numbers, coming from all sides as well, I don't expect any of those sisters to last very long (unless that's a battery of exorcist in the background, but I don't believe it is). I'm not fussed about that though, because I wouldn't like 40k if my protagonists weren't fighting in hopeless battles and dying gloriously in the name of the Emperor (or whatever else they believe in). Many (much?) of the iconic old art was of glorious last stands, for example!

There's this image on the Reliquary Ministorum page of the digital codex:

And it also has a sister grappled by tentacles!

I completely forgot about that one. Which tells you how memorable this codex has been for me. sad.png

I know it was likely talked about, and overlooked. Yes, the $80 (ASD) kit of sisters and the repentia squad are out of stock temporarily. Which is confusing due to the the three packs are still available along with heavies. Some (including myself) would love to believe that this could point to plastic. In all honesty people, let's look at this from a slight business stand point. The fans and hobbyists are clamouring for plastic sisters. GW cannot prove people want the models due to plenty of metals being in stock. I honestly hate this fact, but it is supply and demand. They have a supply of product, but there is no demand for it. So... Why waste production money on producing something with stock of relevant product sitting in the warehouse. I have a 1500 point metal sisters force, waiting for plastics to get dusted off, but we may have to help our future players, by buying these and building this army to show MORE support.

Ok, getting off the soapbox. Sorry.

I disagree. There is no demand for metal Sisters. There is only a demand for plastic Sisters. If GW can't see that difference, they have no business being in the minis industry. Saying "you need to buy metal models you don't want to prove a demand for plastic models that they might make" is like saying that you should buy oranges to prove how badly you want apples.

Thing is though, they don't really have the supply of product. If they still sold the entire metal range, that'd be fine. But they don't. I picked up a dozen Sisters earlier this year because I fancied painting something different, and had never tried to paint a predominately white model before (Sacred Rose). But then they shrunk the range again, removing the alternate special weapons Sisters, leaving only 1 mono pose melta/flamer/SB Sister, not to mention the lack of different poses for Seraphim, or the removal of a couple of Sister Superior models. Now I don't have any motivation to buy more of the very expensive metals (or even finish the one's I've got tbh), because they don't sell the variety I want. Whereas, if they still sold the alternate poses, I'd probably buy some more.

Temporarily out of stock does not mean no longer in print which would point to plastics being released. I am in the retail (commission based sales) industry. As long as I have older product, manufactures will not provide me with their newest products. This is due to them not seeing the moving of older products. Though those are still fully valid and working products. As long as there are still old products available, they will not release new ones.

@electricpaladin : I do not understand the apple to orange comparison, in this case. We are discussing two formats of a model, plastic versus metal. Not two completely incomparible items. I feel your analogy would have better suited from, red apples vs Granny Smith. I stated that there is a demand for plastic from the fan base, if you read the whole caption.

@leif : I do share your chagrin for the lack of options available at date for the sororitas. Thought the options are not truly available. The faction is still playable, therefore supply is still available to order. Your opinion is valid in the concept of of not having the motivation to purchase a small and limited product line.

The trouble is that we aren't just talking about wanting the same models in a different material and for a slightly different price. What we are clamoring for is resculpts (that happen to be in a cheaper and easier to manipulate material). The line is really showing its age. That's why I think it's absurd to call for Sisters of Battle players to buy something we don't want (the current metal models) to somehow show our desire for something we do (a new model line to replace the aging, inadequate, and frankly embarrassing line that was fine for the 80s and looks awful next to modern sculpts).

That's the daemon's tongue, and it looks like it's ready to devour her whole.

Raven-san, you aren't having heretical thoughts about that daemon, are you? If so, we will have to purge them from you. Slowly. Perhaps even painfully. devil.gif

On the contrary, I think the Sisters sculpts weren't brilliant in '97, but they've aged very well.

That may be so - I wasn't playing in '97. But they certainly don't look great next to modern models.

But in return you got one of the most heavy tanks currently in the game, the Exorcist. a bit of plastic and a solid piece of metal on top of that. They should add extra bonus to it when it gets rammed by a MC, maybe something like headache,

Any MCor FMC that rams this vehicle suffers a headache and cant continue fighting this battle, its removed from play.

Man did I hate assembling that model. The plate the organ sat on was warped and it was a beast to get vaguely right sitting.

I just used immolator parts and the turret from a whirlwind.
