Opening message:

All field commanders; the hour approaches and glory will soon be for the taking. All armoured companies are to muster for war, sending a representative to Regimental Command - the campaign is to start next solar year (reference: JAN-2015).

Before you start; yes there will be medals and yes promotions are available after the successful prosecution of the campaign. If you have any questions let me know but before you do so please check the following:

Q: Can I acknowledge the orders now?

A: Unofficially yes, and you can start mustering too but the official recognition can not be given until you have completed the correct forms and regulations which will not be made available until the campaign starts. As before, forces that have been prepared for another war zone can not qualify - so nothing beyond a base coat without commissariat approval.

Q: What representative should I send?

A: Any Guard armour; that is to say it is a vehicle and does not transport units. For the last time no, an Ogryn with additional carapace bolted on does not count but it can be any armour, from Hellhound to Basilisk or even your commander's own tank. Ideally the bigger the better, so if you've got some Baneblades lying around now is the time.

Q: Can I send more than one representative?

A: Yes, but only one will count, with the highest level of completion.

Q: What sort of paperwork do I need?

A: Same as before; the representative forms the official entry, but a full and complete service record is recommended as well as a regimental honour roll if it has not already been submitted for a previous campaign.

Full and proper details will be made with the official announcement, this is merely a preliminary message so you may prepare for the upcoming campaign. Reserve your forces now, or if you do not have them you have some time to rectify this!

I think the Guardsmen may have a rough idea what this Commissar will be doing... ;)

The 711th CCAB stand ready.

Let no member of this forum be found lacking for failure will be punished by the Commissariat!

For The Emperor and the glory of the Imperium!

Hmmm...I've signed up for these before and done my usually poor showing for actually painting miniatures (i.e. didn't) but this one tempts me a bit more. I've got a Vanquisher for Armored Battalions that needs painting.

Pondering, pondering, pondering...

Excellent! Should give me time to assemble this:

which arrived in the mail smile.png

This will be put together as the Wyvern.

Or maybe even in the footsteps of Commissar Magneto Elmo it will be both Wyvern and Hydra!

Good to see comrades eager for war! There's plenty of time before we get started so take this opportunity to build your model if you have it already. Remember you can go as far as to prime it with an undercoat and it will still be valid for entry, so there's no need to be in a rush once the challenge starts ;)

Might I recommend people not get too zealous: keep second tanks (particularly super heavies) for next year's ETL unless you need them for deployment soon.

I will be using My Manticore/Deathstrike, or possibly Home crafted Vanquisher for this as the Baneblade would be better served for the ETL

Yeah, there's more time in the ETL to complete larger models compared to Regiments which is why my super-heavy box is waiting for that instead. You could sneak in with a single Sentinel and still qualify for Big Guns too...

Given the steadily-rubbish weather that's been going lately, it seems likely I'll be using my already base coated Executioner for this. I might be able to respray models in the old storage room at work, but I've heard cold and damp ruins base coating, so I may just give it a miss if I get new models.

Yep, no baby tanks allowed I'm afraid - Guard vehicles only!

One of the tricks to undercoating is to make sure the can isn't too cold either, I leave mine inside to warm up from colder storage so it sprays better - after a good shake of course. Better to wait/find a better environment than risk buggering something up.

I have a thunderer that just rolled off the manufactorium floor to support the 44th assault brigade, that is in need of some paint. I've just finished magnetizing (to be a russ also) and is primed and awaiting orders for its paint.
