anyone else notice the vampire teeth on the tactical squad sgt? Space Vampires NOOOOOOOOO

i did dry.png Not a huge fan.

Can anyone tell me where in our fluff it mentions our teeth going like that?

Well, there's some fairly explicit stuff about various successor's ritual consumption of blood and/or flesh of their enemies , so the space vampire idea is there. Then, there's the Angels Sanguine who don't take their helmets off for anyone not in the chapter. Taken in conjunction the implication is fangs or some other deformity

Basically, though, no. I've not seen any fluff that explicitly states we have fangs. I think GW like there being the suggestion that some might have them and so they do stuff like this to stoke the fire every now and then.

Gotta say, I'm not a fan of it being overt either.

Regarding the "My what large teeth you have" issue, there is a brief description of the Blood Drinkers having longer canines in the (very) old novel "Space Marine".

I realise that Blood Angel Chapter players might not be so impressed, however. Myself, I did roll my eyes somewhat, but there'll be ways of hiding them on the model I don't doubt (albeit those with far better sculpting/painting experience laugh.png )

If anyone wants me to post what it says, I'll try to work out where the heck I've put the book laugh.png

There's a single sentence in Fear to Tread where Sanguinius bares his...I think the word was canines though, not fangs? Or was it brother Alotros in the chapel? Or both?

Either way, I won't be using that head.

Love that book, almost certain that it's true in both cases. Wether the fangs are more pronounced or not is not clarified however. That is our motif love it or hate it. At least we aren't sparkly ;)

Did anyone notice: all old models oft Dante, Mephiston and Corbulo are shown on this picture. Thus I do not expect any New model for them. But I am glad that Corbulo is still in!

Priest is to expensive IMO.

Not to mention that I feel somehow underwhelmend by the lack of new models (and no I don't count the tacticals). I expected some new resculpts for Meph Corbulo or Dante.

Corbulo now looks like the new Priest's Squire. :cuss

It's funny, this is the only stupidly priced character model that I am actually going to buy.  Hands down one of my favorite models GW has ever made.

That being said, it's really weird how GW will let some older models fester for upwards of 20 years while making new ones no one asked for!

It's not so weird, GW logic says that most people who are going to buy, say, a Mephiston model have already done so. Thus it makes more sense (to them) to produce something new to tempt money from people. If  tthe old sculpt, that paid for its production cost years ago, in an inferior material and for higher price keeps selling in the meantime, then so much the better for their bottom line. I think it's also pretty clear that their target market these days is not 'little Timmy' but the veteran who can't break his plastic crack addiction and that vet probably does already own Mephiston and thus is more likely to buy a snazzy looking new priest (especially if Sanguinary High Priests are back) than a resculpt.

Of course there are plenty of people who would love a new Mephiston who already own the old one but shhhhhh, group think doesn't allow for such anomalies. It's not a good explanation, but then when did GW not do strange things that seem designed to avoid both maximising their revenue and placating customers?

Strike "weird" and replace with "lame" then. ;)

Fangs are mentioned elsewhere in Fear to Tread, when they are talking about the Space Wolves.  One Angel says something to the effect that 'They're all savages and barbarians,' and another replied something like 'What do you suppose they say of us?' and flashed his fangs to prove the point.

Looks like that rumour of a new Dante sculpt was...well, just a rumour. Still it's likely he will be a little more competitive in the new dex.

So are there going to be more new kits revealed after the dex is released? I hear this has been the case in other releases so far, namely orks, SW and DE.

I am not seeing any stormtalons. Shame it would have been nice.

I don't think this is it. I can't see them leaving the Storm Raven as our only AA. We either have another kit coming or we'll get access to some of the Space Marine toys.

So, until the Codex is out, No info on the Carmine Blades?

...I kinda get the feeling they might pull a Crimson Slaughter and use them as the Supplement over the Flesh Tearers....

Let's just hope they are interesting, but not the new forefront.
