KJB
Very nicely done OMG, the colour and weathering especially are superb What was the Proteus like to put together? I want to buy either a Proteus or a Spartan but I have heard some horror stories...
The_Chaplain
Holy macaroni! I love looking over your work OMG, every model is a real treasure. Do you have a blog or something where I can look over all your projects to date?
OwlandMoonGuy
Thanks for the comments. @keith (aka Apollo "keith" Creed): This model did fight me some but that's par for FW so I've come to expect it. I didn't find it any more difficult to assemble than any other FW kit. In the past I've used blow dryers, boiling and salt dipping to get FW models to fit together. None of that was required for this kit. BTW: I would be happy to elaborate on any of those methods for anyone not familiar. It's hard to tell from these pictures but the treads on the top, front, right corner didn't line up at all. I always try to assemble treads from the top down and from the front back. That way if there's any flaws they end up at the back of the model or ideally underneath (then the model rocks back and forth on flat surfaces but that's another problem). The way this one turned out that upper right corner overlapped. I had to hack off one of the tread links to make it fit. Still, you can see in the right profile pic how the tread angles down toward the back. So not a nightmare but more work that you'd prefer given the cost of the model. But oh well. I have a Spartan still in the ziplock bag. If I get time after I'm ready for Adepticon I may dive into that + finish off Ferris Manus + some of his closest friends in Gorgon armor. @The_Chaplian: If you click on the "There be Daemons" banner in my sig it leads you to the old WIP pics I uploaded to the B&C many moons ago. More moons than I like to admit. Cheers, -OMG
