  1. I'd like to make a Prometheus for my Word Bearers, but I'm having trouble deciding which colors to paint its interior. My usual color scheme is based on Rakarth Flesh, but I'm wondering if it's not too light and bright for a Chaos Legion like the XVIIth. I've been thinking about using some kind of dark red for the inside like in that antediluvian Painting Workshop on a Word Bearer Rhino from an old White Dwarf, but I still am not certain. Here are pictures of my current paint scheme: Which colors do you think would fit Word Bearers? Please and thank you.

  7. You asked for it! Knight Conquistador The moment Cadia fell, Iron Warriors Warsmith Kalash rushed to the forge world of Promethean, seeking to avenge the humiliation he suffered in a failed attempt to seize Promethean's Land Raider manufactories during the 10th Black Crusade. The forge world of Poseidon sent House Triton's Knights to aid in Promethean's defense, as did Black Templars Marshal Teller. Learning from his earlier defeat, Kalash used drop pods to deploy Daemon Engines into the loyalists' rear, inflicting heavy casualties; Black Templars strike cruisers quickly destroyed Kalash's battle barge to deny the Iron Warriors reinforcements, but not before the Warsmith seized and then fortified the forge world's main spaceport. Promethean's Magi, House Triton's Sacristans, and Black Templars Techmarines salvaged the wrecks of Knights Gallant- which suffered for their lack of ranged weapons- and Land Raiders to create a transport capable of transporting the Templars over Iron Warriors defenses, allowing Marshal Teller to fight and kill Warsmith Kalash in the spaceport control tower. The Templars named the resulting vehicle the "Knight Conquistador," after pre-Imperial warriors who ventured into the unknown, not only to conquer, but to spread their faith; the Sacristans nicknamed it the "Megapode." It mounts a Land Raider chassis atop a Knight's legs, replaces the las-power generators with a Throne Mechanicum, and relocates the sponson-mounted weapons to the arms. A skull helm- its orbits framing twin-heavy bolter muzzles, its mouth an omniscope- denies the enemy cover and concealment. Two front winches and two side winches allow passengers to disembark via rappelling. Enlarged feet grant all-terrain capability at the expense of speed, compared to other Knight patterns. As it is technically not a Land Raider, the Knight Conquistador's use soon spread to the Adeptus Mechanicus' Skitarii legions. 23 power, 435 pts M *, WS *, BS *, S 8, T 8, W 28, A 4, Ld 9, Sv 2+ <> DamageSome of this model's characteristics change as it suffers damage, as shown below: Remaining W 15-28, M 10", WS 3+, BS 3+ Remaining W 8-14, M 7", WS 4+, BS 4+ Remaining W 1-7, M 5", WS 5+, BS 5+ A Knight Conquistador is a single model equipped with a godhammer chainsword (reaper chainsword with integral twin-lascannon), a godhammer gauntlet (thunderstrike gauntlet with integral twin-lascannon), a twin-heavy bolter, and titanic feet. <> Wargear options This model may replace its godhammer chainsword with a hurricane chainsword (reaper chainsword with integral hurricane bolter) or a flamestorm chainsword (reaper chainsword with integral flamestorm cannon). Ver. 1.4 - Added text "This datasheet can be from any Space Marine Chapter." Ver. 1.3 - Spelling fixes and added Dozer Ram melee weapon. Ver. 1.2 - Internal Changes. Ver. 1.1 - Various spelling and wording fixes. Greetings Brothers! Nine years ago, when I was on the Games Workshop Studio Web Team, I created the Land Raider Ares for an article on the Games Workshop website. It was an example of models that players could create for games of Warhammer 40K Apocalypse. People seemed to either love it or hate it, but it will always be dear to my heart as the one thing I created that left a mark on the 40k universe and people still talk about. Unfortunately GW never saw fit to make it "official" outside of the Apocalypse datasheet we put on the website (which is no longer there). It never received any updates for later editions of 40k either. Well, if anyone has the right to update it, I figure I do, it was my baby to begin with. Since I originally designed it as a Dark Angels vehicle I thought I should share it here first. So here ya go, Land Raider Ares 8th Edition Datasheet. It's still not "official" and you will have to get your opponent's permission to use it, but at least in friendly games, most people won't mind. Click on the image below to download the datasheets. (If the link doesn't work, such as on mobile, you can get it at Chamber 42 here.) http://www.chamber42.com/files/datasheets/Ares/Latest/Ares-tease-600-new.jpg One of the things I couldn't do on the original was give it very many options. So I've added some weapons options. It was made before the Redeemer came out and I probably would have used flamestorm cannons had they been around then, but since it started with twin heavy flamer sponson, that is still the default. I also added twin heavy plasma cannons as an option to replace the twin assault cannons because I've always like the idea of it and a hurricane bolter option as a fun alternative for the side sponsons as well. Dozer blades no longer have rules in 8th, but if they reappear later on in the actual codexes or in Forge World's datasheets, I can add that in later. This has been updated with Dozer Ram rules as found in the Imperial Armour - Index - Forces of the Adeptus Astartes book on the Sororitas Repressor. I'm not above making changes, so play with it and let me know how it goes. All of my stuff is currently in storage until my family and I can move to a bigger place so I won't get the opportunity for a little while. I will keep the PDF at the link above and update it if any changes are made and note it in this post. Also feel free to point anyone you think may want the datasheet to my post on Chamber42 here. Take care - Bish
