Hi all,

 

I'm getting close to completing my 2500pts Emperor's Children army, and I thought it was time for me to post up some pics, and get some opinions.

 

I have bought 99% of the models I need for my army, and all but Fulgrim are base-coated, but I'll just post pics of the finished models.

 

Please just speak your mind, no need to hold back :smile.:.

 

FYI, I know the 'gold' doesn't look like gold all the time, but that's because I'm still learning this 'NMM' technique. To be honest, I don't think I'll change it no matter what people say, because even though it might not seem like gold all the time, I still like the unique look it's bringing to my army :smile.:.

 

I can't post this without mentioning our member 'Whitescar', who's EC army has been my inspiration. The shield on my champion is a copy of his design, and you might notice more elements that match his army (though I don't dare to think my army gets any where near his it looks).

These guys are not part of my EC force in the end, but are poxies for now (I play them as palatines with jump packs, command squad with packs and Fulgrim till he's painted).

Made some pics of my contemptors. I have 2 with lots of weapon option. The ones shown (contemptor mortis with kheres and Rylanor) are the ones I tend to use most:

Love the shading, I have the same loadouts on mine, magnetised the arms just in case :-)

Mine are magnetised as well ofc :). No brainer with these things.

 

Working on Phoenix Guard and Apothecary atm. After that it's time for the Storm Eagle and a Rhino, and then finish of with Fulgrim himself :D.

Is Rylanor a special character contemptor? Because him and Saul Tarvitz are my favourite EC characters and I wouldn't mind getting them.

Rylanor has special rules, and FW sells a Rylanor bundle which will end up being the contemptor as you see with mine (so EC dread + kheres arm + cc arm). 

 

Rylanor and Tarvitz are my favorites too (and Lucius before he 'fell' ). The rules for Tarvitz are crap (taking a praetor and giving him the same stuff as Tarvitz is cheaper than taking Tarvitz) so I play him as a customised Praetor most of the time.

 

As with all EC rules (yes I'm whining) the rules for Rylanor are a bit underwhelming too (liked to have seen +1I or +1A or +1HP). But his special rule is in sync with the EC doctrine :smile.:.

 

Can't wait for the first EC independent Character model (Tarvitz and Eidolon being the 2 options there). Come on FW! Most of the other legions from the 1st book have 1!

Done with the first rhino, I'm not happy with the way I overused the snow (on the body along the tracks), but I've learned from that and will do better with my sicaran hopefully (plan on using more subtle snow next time). The Rhino is passable within my force, so I'll keep it for now (can't really take the snow off), maybe I'll get a new one after I'm finished with my 2500pts.

I hear you brother, underwhelming when salamanders have a dreadnought that won't die etc for an extra few points. But hey..

 

I would love to see eidolon, I'd like him mid swing of his hammer! I'd imagine they will do him singular.

Maybe they will release him when they update the legion ☺️ (Plus his neck stitches) and we can get a lucius and Fabius, one can dream!

 

I think we've seen Khârn, typhus, loken and abaddon, Erebus and kor pharon, a mechanicum guy, and soon Pollux so far.

Be nice to get a little love :-)

2 Drop Pods:

I use one of them sticked to a flying base as an anvillus proxy till I'm sure I want one in my army. Works well and actually looks quite ok :tongue.:.

Oh and yes, I'm all about proxying till I'm certain I want to get a certain model. I have way to many Eldar doing 'nothing' on a shelve because I didn't try them out properly before.

FW models are too expensive for doing nothing :tongue.:.

Finally finished my Sicaran! :biggrin.:. Been a project spread out over many weeks, but managed to finish it today :smile.:.

This is one of those examples where my NMM is still lacking in skill, but I still very much like to look and they way it is coherent in the army :smile.:.
