Though I find the color ironic because the origins of black armored warriors representing the emperor directly go back to the pre-logar XVII legion heralds. Uhh, what? Imperial Heralds most definitely were not black. The actual "Herald" (the proto-chaplains who walked up to the non-compliant humans and demanded they recant or burn) indeed wore black armor.
