Gorgeous artwork you've got there :)

That would be "Mountain" armour, a type of armour originating in China consisting of interlocking metal plates resembling the character for mountain: 山. Hence the name. It's similar to chainmail or scale mail in that it's flexible, but here it appears to be decorative.

edit: And it would appear I was Ninja'd by Mikhal, you sneaky bastard.

Now that is interesting - extremely nice looking and seems rather protective... I'd be interested to see how flexible it is compared to Chain and Scale

Beautiful piece of artwork! Gwalchavad definitely looks amazing, looking forward to seeing you bring this to life (even if it may be a personal hell :teehee:)!

This is awesome. So so awesome.

I need to see this felle sculpted, he's your primarch, so I know you'll do your best!

Thx guys. He will be made. But atm I think he will be made last. The pattern of the armor is just insane to sculpt with my actual abilities. Have to train more

Well. This small discussionled to my own demise. I bought 2 dark Imperium starters and exchanged one set of death guard into a set of primaris. So I will create a primaris chapter. Thought about "Apostles of Light" a nice mix between the Apostles of war and Wardens of light. Created from the gene seed of one if the purged legion they seek to understand where they come from. A bit like the Blood Ravens.

As Color Scheme I thought about Golden/Black, just like the Wardens in the late insurrection. Black is the color of death and war.

What do you guys think?

Sounds neat Mikhal, perhaps their Chapter symbol could be an upright sword (representing the Apostles half of their origin/nature) silhouetted against a sunrise (representing the WoL half). Also, why not have their visual style skew closer to the Gaelic side (swirling woad tattoos/patterns, cloaks and broches, knotwork designs, a few furs, oval-shaped shields, etc) of the Wardens culture as compared to the more oriental design of their predecessors, but you could still retain hints of that asian styling like those bandana-hair bun combo headwear (don't know the proper name), scalemail/scale armour, helmet tassels (sergeant/veterancy marking?), etc. Personally I'd recommend looking into ancient Korean aesthetic design for that part as ever since you showed us that recent artwork of Gwal by Saint-Max with "Mountain"-style armour patterning I can't stop thinking of the Wardens, Warriors of Peace & Lightning Bearers/Harbingers as representing Korea, China and Japan respectively in the BotL.

How much black?

I replaced the blue of the wardens with black and add a black part to the belly.

Hah!!! Exaclty what I am aiming for. Well the korean hints on the armor and at the same time give them a more ferral/gaelic feel. They don't know who they are, they gather only hints, when they meet the wolves for example and bjoern is there.or some eldar might know a thing. I am not sure, but I think I will have them solve a great mission and as thank you, Guilliman gifts them with a remembrancer sketch of Gwalchavad, however, without any comment only that he is sorry for what role he played.

As they stilll become Pariahs in near death situations, they are gifted with the masks

This is given from Guilliman after liberating system x from a chaos incursion

Painted by the remembrancer slaine the 69th it shows some unknown marine (?)

Soo. As Jorrik Snøwolf progresses for the August Arena, a lot of Wardens were killed by him so moved him to the Wardens Thread to show the base.

All your base are belong to Space Wolves

I love how you've created such a brutal scene of taking down former allies. For the pole arm guy I think if you had it at a lower angle like his and is dropping down it would look more natural. Can't wait to see this completed!

Thx mate, I might have been to optimistic and won't be able to finish the diorama for the challenge...:/

Although they kill my wardens in the most brutal ways possible I love the wolves. And many other legions shared their part in destroying the XIth in my headcanon. I let him die during the purge which explains why they got dull... ( please sw players, don't purge me now)
