mandaloriano
XV° Light Infantry Regiment of Ketzok The XV° Regiment of Light Infantry Ketzok, is one of the most famous regiments of his world, has participated in many of the bloodiest battles. On more than one occasion, the regiment received over 70% casualties and was very close to being disbanded, but has always managed to recover due to the incessant flow of recruits received from their home world. Ketzok is a hive world with a highly militarized society, located in the Segmentum Pacificus near the Segmentum Fortress Hydraphur. Ketzok also has many manufactorums providing all its regiments of armor, weapons and ammunition they need. During the event called The Plague of Unbelief the world was plagued by anti-imperial uprisings, which took almost thirty years to be suffocated. Violence and poverty generated by these uprisings caused the population of Ketzok was ideal for founding new regiments for Astra Militarum. After order was restored in Ketzok, the Ecclesiarchy imposed severe conditions of recruitment. The commanding officers of the regiments of Ketzok come from the richest families in the world, while the massive troop comes from mandatory conscription into the lower classes. The doctrine of combat of the XV° regiment make strong emphasis on light infantry troops, concentrating in huge units to overcome the enemy by quantity rather than quality. The XV° regiment generally has large amounts of heavy weapons due to the lack of tanks in their arsenal, the only support vehicles are there in the regiment are Exploration Sentinels. The Commander of the Regiment is Commander Colonel Lajos Vendel and his deputy is the Mayor Andris Tivadar commander of the 1st Company. Currently the XV° is one of several regiments deployed in the Sabbat Worlds Crusade. Major Tivadar Andris http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u573/mandaloriano/XV%20of%20Ketzok/IMG_1703_zpstgmsidum.jpg The Mayor Tivadar Andris, is one of the oldest and brutal commanding officers of the XV° Ketzok, he has been in the regiment since he was a novice and has climbed to be the second in command of the entire regiment. The Mayor Andris has participated in all major campaigns in which the regiment participated as the Assault on Leporis System, the Siege of Qasey, the Invasion of Strosa and the Sabbat Worlds Crusade. It is a savage and brutal leader who does not hesitate to send their troops in waves to overwhelm the enemy with overwhelming numerical superiority. For this reason the Mayor Andris is not highly esteemed by his troops. Squad Sgt. Jeno http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u573/mandaloriano/XV%20of%20Ketzok/IMG_1704_zps56tdf4eh.jpg Squad Sergeant Jeno is beloved by his men because of their reputation to protect its squad, which is a rare quality in Ketzok Regiments. Always normally found in the heat of battle, where it is harder sharing the hardships endured by his men. During the Invasion of Strosa won the Medal of Steel Eagle after eliminating an entire Ork Mob only with their grenades. During the battle of Strosa took command of his squad after his sergeant was beheaded by the Orks. At the end of the battle was promoted to the position of sergeant squad. His superiors believe that if he can survive some more battles, has a good chance of being promoted to platoon commander. elmo
Commissar Olga Kurganova Heroine of the Commissariat 711th Cadian Combined Arms Brigade Olga Kurganova was born the daughter of Captain Ruan Kurganova and his wife, Anna. Her family where killed during a Xenos attack and she survived due to the favour of The God Emperor and was enrolled in the Schola Progenium where she excelled and was recommended for service in the Officio Prefectus as a Commissar Cadet under Commissar Ralgar and was tested and tempered during her time there. She was promoted to Junior Commissar and posted to the first of her Cadian units, the 97th Armoured. During her time in the 97th she was forced to make only 15 summary executions, partly due to her exemplary leadership style, her morale raising speeches and the respect she was held in by the platoon senior NCOs and Regimental staff. Leading from the front as usual during an assault on the same Xenos who killed her parents she took a shell splinter in her eye but continued to fight, motivating her troops to fight harder by her example. After the battle she resisted attempts to give her an augmentic eye and took to wearing an almost piratical looking eye patch to cover her now sightless orb. On gaining the rank of full Commissar she was transferred to the command staff of the 897th Infantry Battalion where she is currently responsible for morale and discipline. During the Battle of Ridge 582 North, Commissar Kurganova was thrust into the thick of the battle in the command Chimera "Emperors Grace" when the orks, seeing the large antenna array which identified the Chimera command variant made a concerted attempt to destroy it. Commissar Kurganova took the initiative after the wounding of Colonel Manchier during a particularly determined attempt by a group of orks on the chimera and, throwing open the crew hatch, fired her bolt pistol into the hideous green faces surrounding the vehicle while shouting out words of encouragement to the guardsmen... "The Emperor is watching you, Guardsmen of the 897th! Do not fail him in this holy duty. Do honour to your colleagues, your Regiment and your world. Stand firm men of Cadia! Kill the Xenos!" The sight of her standing tall in the Chimera with a glint of holy retribution in her one remaining eye, bolt gun blazing and chainsword revving, spraying green blood and globules of flesh from it's rotating teeth, drove the men of the 897th into a fury that even the orks could not face. Guardsman Si Nadal 897th Infantry Battalion 711th Cadian Combined Arms Brigade Guardsman Si Nadal's background is common to all members of the Cadian Forces. At age 16 he joined the Whiteshields and after surviving 2 hard years he was promoted to the rank of Guardsman and transferred to the 897th Infantry Battalion as a battlefield replacement after the losses infliced on the Battalion at the Battle of Prester Myra. He joined Squad 190, commanded by the grizzled Sgt "Ginger" Ersk, and was quickly given the position of the squad grenadier as he showed a great affinity to the Grenade Launcher. He was present during the Battle of Ridge 582 North and was heavily committed to the fighting, using a mixture of Frag and Krak grenades on the Orks to great effect. He was witness to the battle that rolled around the Baneblade "Imperator" and was heard to say that "It was one of the best frakkin' things I have ever seen." Brother Handro
What do you get if you cross Chem-dogs with Steel Legion?....Steel Dogs!...or uh, Chem-legion!... One for All vow: http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/yy112/BrotherHandro/852baf07-2247-471a-9bac-913d36eb987d_zpskrgxklnp.jpg http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/yy112/BrotherHandro/eecf4ada-e5a4-4421-a8fe-8e5c333862c8_zpsjgtsog1a.jpg Conscript bio: This pict-cap shows a member of the 3rd Petitioners' Regiment, whose personal details go unrecorded. It is thought that his unit went into battle at some point after the initial wave of the Emperor's Children had established a beachhead on the planet [Grandia IV], and had begun their push out towards the main habitation centres of the continent, most probably a few months into the conflict.Although the figure appears relatively well-equipped for a conscript, this belies the fact that most of his gear is self-furnished: the pouches and rebreather tank and mask are civilian, whilst the duster is the ubiquitous mark of a crop farmer. These later became synonymous with those conscripted regiments raised in the arid plains of the agri-farms, of which the 3rd was but one of many. The lasrifle is an older pattern, and many individuals chose to use their own personal firearms or scavenge parts from the detritus of battle. As long as the weapon complied with a narrow range of megathule compatibility, it was accepted. Army history: The edict of conscription was passed almost immediately after the recognition of the Emperor's Children attack for what it was; a full-scale invasion of the system. Although the Imperial Governor had enacted a writ calling for the foundation of a standing planetary defence auxilia upon the outbreak of the Heresy, approximately two years before the system's invasion, a lack of resources and interest in the relatively unimportant sector of space that Grandia occupied meant that upon the outbreak of conflict, Grandia's military forces were woefully unprepared and under-equipped, with what little materiel available funnelled towards the politically-powerful Feldgendarmerie. Thusly a new armed force was needed as a stopgap measure to enable the armed forces on Grandia IV to remain afloat, buying valuable time for the inward planets to prepare their defences. The first of these regiments were raised and quickly became identified as 'petitioners' due to the make up of their personnel; most of the members were farmers, often retired Vattrans or their offspring eager to do their bit, and willing to join the new infantry with their friends and own equipment whilst waiting for regular line units to be raised and outfitted. Upon an auxilia regiment's creation, the conscripts, particularly the most experienced and ex-military, would petition to join up as sergeants and unit specialists, whilst those not accepted for transfer would remain on the frontline, waiting their turn. Many ex-Vattrans actually preferred the more informal environs of the petitioners' units, and their irregular, guerilla style of fighting. A large number remained with them as long as possible, fighting with their own friends, family and equipment instead of receiving a random posting. The petitioners' regiments should not be confused with the later compulsory conscription of almost all non-essential civilians; these units were used as little more than cannon-fodder by their commanding Feldgend officers and conditions and standards of equipment were naturally much lower. One down, one to go! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/303867-regiments-of-the-bc-blood-and-glory/page/5/#findComment-3970215 Share on other sites

scatmandoo
Regiment History, The glorious Cadian 171st Regiment had originally been involved in fighting in the Ultima Segmentum against the Tyranid threat found in Hive fleet Kraken.Unfortunately despite some heroic actions they were wiped out to the man. The bells rang on Cadia and the Regiment was disbanded into history.Once the Threat of Hive Fleet Leviathan and the Ork incursion of the Forsarr sector had become apparent in the Segmentum Tempestus the High Lords decided to raise another regiment from Cadia. Then arrived the newly formed Regiment to the sector and as with any new regiment, they have been given very few combat veterans, new kit or supplies. However they do have plenty of hand me down should be scrapped vehicles and weapons, and more than enough ‘green’ troopers. Led into battle by Colonel Anders Gunderson, an officer school veteran held in high regard by even Lord Creed! How the regiment fares will be decided on how Colonel Anders bonds his men into a efficient fighting force while dealing with the odd mission from a couple of mysterious Inquisitors nearby.Early records of the company have indicated that they will soon swiftly become a highly regarded force due to some successful encounters against both Orks and even some traitor marines. they are being reinforced by some Tempestus scions and Ogryn to bolster their numbers to aid their fighting skills. One skill they have found is in acquiring Plasma, be it in hand held pistols and assault rifles, Plasma cannon armoured Sentinels or even a rare Leman Russ Executioner. How they are doing this is baffling any observers but on more than one occasion the hierarchy have been heard saying "It's not always what you know, it's who you know"! previous updateThe 171st have been involved heavily with fighting in the Forsarr sector. Due to losses and the environment the Rgt currently find themselves, they have been adapting their structure to resemble more of an Armoured make up with more focus on mobility. This has raised eyebrows to observers as they seem to have been resupplied with "new" vehicles to aid their fight. While a mystery to others, it is fact a Regiment secret as they have been fighting on behalf of an un-named, unknown Inquisitor who has led the fight to a long abandoned Imperium storage facility. It has only been possible to a short break in the Warp storms around the planet which consumed the life of all the inhabitants.Recently they have been taking on a Space marine force that had gone rogue, and had been following their own agenda and not that of the Imperium. A couple of splinter Tyranid fleet forces had been encountered too.The Force from my studies have been enhancing their tactics and are looking very competent considering when they were formed. Little Update for now, The 171st have been reacting to some minor Ork incursions, but have now been tasked with the utmost priority To Aid the PDF and fight off the Ork Waagh heading and already causing problems on Dalea VII. This planet is of extreme importance to the Imperium due to primarily its Promethium and other minor exports due to its mineral rich core. (look at my battle report thread for more updates on a narrative campaign I am involved in)This battle will be a test to the fledgling regiment but reports indicate a good chance of success. It seems as though they keep striking gold with the reinforcements they keep managing to get/find. Only time will tell if this will continue or if their 'Luck' will run out. Presenting Master Aircrew Clive Foley Formally a Door Gunner on Valkyrie or occasionally Vendetta aircraft when required. He has now found a new role as a Expert Sniper and an asset to Lord General Gunders Anderson and the Officers under his command in the 171st.Throughout his training he was always known to be a 'good' shot, but it was during an attack on Orks in the Forrsarr sector and later against Tyranids that it was noticed that the gunfire from the door he occupied was not only more accurate, it used less ammo in the process. Win Win for the regiment. All was well until a Valkyrie he was travelling in at the time, crash landed due to enemy gunfire and his beloved Heavy Bolter was damaged in the crash. The Valkyrie had been outfitted to drop a Spec Ops Sniper Recon squad into enemy lines. Due to the Crash, both pilots and some of the Recon team were killed and that is when Clive got Hold of the Sniper rifle that he has since never given up. Due to his and the recon teams efforts they were able to hold off the Greenskins until a rescue team managed to get them. Ever since he has been an example of accurate shooting and has been given special dispensation to hold his rank. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150307_163235.jpg And Trooper Deeny Symone This trooper is a new addition to the 171st. He is part of a new experimental section where the the best from across the regiment showing natural tendencies in covert ops can be used to the best of their abilities in said skills. Due to how small this section is because of its infancy, he is actually a former Stormtrooper trained in the Schola Progenium. He and 5 other troopers have been given the dual role of tutors and operatives and had the positions offered to them after proving to be a great asset to the Inquisitor Onyx Farquoa who has a great interest in the Regiment. What this means for the future no-one knows, but with an Inquisitor involved, It probably means trouble for all involved. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150307_163403.jpg More Pictures and info can be found on my WIP thread. Toxichobbit
First update. Edit: Apologies for the bad photos. I couldn't be bothered setting up lights and background for a WIP shot, so I just used my painting lamp with a piece of paper as a basic background. The finished photos will be way better, promise . She's about 60% done. All of the main colours (khaki, olive, skin and black areas) are all finished. She needs details and insignia, followed by a proper base and finally some weathering on her armour, weapon and boots. Hopefully I'll have her finished within the next week and can start on my Blood and Glory vow. As a bonus, here's a size comparison to one of her male colleagues (who also is about 60% finished) to show that she's not just a female head on a male body. Toxichobbit
Looking good there. Where are the female bits from? The head is from Haslefree Miniatures' female heads range. They also have a second set that gives some more variety of expression. The arms are Victoria Minaitures' Arcadian Guard Universal Rolled Sleeve Rifle Arms (female). There's a bit of work involved with both pieces to get them to fit on a Cadian body. The head needs to be cut down and shaped to fit inside a Cadian helmet and the arms are too short to comfortably hold a lasgun on a Cadian body, at least one with expanded chest armour, so I pinned them a little away from the body and filled in the gaps with putty (which didn't come out too well unfortunately). I haven't tried the male arms yet, although I do have some to give variety to my male Shock Troops. I'm hoping they fit better than the female ones, but it's difficult to tell because I changed the basic Cadian body shape so much on the female. That's great work, looks quite similar in idea to my currently paused project to create a female trooper. An excellent paint job makes it even better. A topic to detail what you did would be most welcome Toxic... I'll happily do that, but first I'd like to make another one or two to iron out the technique first. She came out ok for the trial attempt, but I think there's some places I can improve on her and I have some ideas for cutting down the time required to make further guardswomen that I'd like to try out as well. The basics though is that I thinned her boots and legs, shortened her thighs, shortened her torso, thinned the torso's shoulders, added a new belt (the orginal was chopped off to shorten her), slightly expanded her chest armour, set her head slightly deeper in her collar than a male, replaced her head with one from above, fitted a helmet to it and sculpted the helmet padding and strap, replaced the arms with the ones above, added Cadian shoulder pads to them and fitted a lasgun. There's some steps there that could be skipped if you don't mind your ladies being a bit more manly. Most of it isn't even noticeable unless you closely examine a male and female side by side, especially once she's covered in ammo packs, grenades, canteen etc hiding her body shape. Still, I found that all the little bits add up to make a feminine shape that's just distinguishable underneath her uniform. where as if I skipped some of the steps I either ended up with a masculine shape with female attributes (female head on male body for example) or with certain parts out of proportion (Cadian hands compared to female heads is a good example of this, the hands are almost as big as her head). I'd also like to try some variety on the basic design, maybe doing less shortening to make taller ladies and doing stuff like making female sergeants, officers, vehicle crew, special and heavy weapons crew, comm-troopers etc. Eventually I'd like to try a female Wyrdvane and Kasrkin, but that won't be for quite a while as I need to practice my sculpting (a lot) more. Kierdale
I finished the two Primaris Psykers today. Rather happy with how the resurrection orb turned out that this one is (probably rather ill-advisedly) fiddling with... Attaching the left arm-section of the orb-holder and the right-arm section of the pistol holder after painting the `inside` meant there is a bit of a seam down the outside of their cloaks, but I'm not over bothered about it. The pistol-wielder got the eye-in-a-ring-upon-an-I Adeptus Astra Telepathica icon on his scripture-streamers, while the orb-fiddler got a different AAT icon (I found in my 7th ed. eRulebook) on the back of his collar (not my best freehand, I'll admit).
