This fella pretty much perfectly straddles a metal juggernaut I had. Need to work on him a bit more.

Venom I just want to say it is beyond ridiculous how nicely you do these fantastic conversions yet refuse to paint them. Know you have the time, you've proven it with your continuing conversion work. I just think it's really sad how you have all these fantastic models sitting around just being 'grey'. ;)

I am just jealous as I despise the conversion work and just want to paint. But you really got get some work done here. It's a crying shame those are just sitting around.

Haha yeah man. I can't even pretend it isn't true any more. I just got my Renegade box and guess what I'm jumping right into?

And this is after buying/assembling/partially painting 20 WFB War Hounds as Flesh Hounds. :cool.:

I'm hopeless.

They work fine for me. All a matter of preference, I s'pose. I'll tell you this much. I've got 39 of them, so I'm not buying anything else as Flesh Hounds until GW releases a high quality plastic kit. I also have 30 Barghest a Fiends but never painted them. I wanted something cheap that I could use at the GW stores. War hounds are absolutely FUGLY, but they were cheap. Trade off.

Wow Venom.... can you make me one too? :D

About the Flesh Hounds... I use the proper ones at their exorbatant cost, but I play at a GW store enough that I can't get away with 3rd party stuff, but for larger units and for keeping track of those units, I did get Chaos Hounds but they come with small bases so what I did is grab a bunch of extra 40mm Termie bases. I think I have a picture somewhere....

Anyway, I think the actual Flesh Hound is on a really big 50mm base? I'm guess, but it's definitely bigger than a Termie Base...perhaps even 60mm? The problem with this is for the formation you VERY rarely get a HoW out of the squad.... maybe 1 or 2 if you're lucky. They can often restrict each others movement on tables with sufficient terrain.

With more I'll probably have a problem, but running 20 last week wasn't so bad. 2x 5 and 1x10 + Juggerlord. Obviously the 5-dog units got more HoW hits.  It also helps when my opponent arranges his dudes in a battle line. I'm using 50 mm bases for them.

Tossing a knight or two into the mix is definitely going to make the footprint issue even more meaningful, but scout will help mitigate that.

I love my hounds. Been running 3 units of 5 or a unit of 8 and a unit of 7 with Jugger lord. My opponent had just bought some land speeders and the hounds tore them to pieces (even units of 5).  I haven't been using them as a Goretide as I only have one unit of bikes.

Anyone seen the draft FAQ? Couldn't see it all but apparently Bloodthristers can charge the turn after they're summoned. Also, it says that weapons that say things like 'models that carry this weapon...' have the effect even when not using it. So Goredrinker works with another weapon (which I thought anyway).

I was just coming here to say the same thing about Goredrinker. The thing with Bloodthirsters applies to all FMC that are conjured or otherwise summoned. They must declare whether they're in swooping or gliding mode when they arrive, hence the ability to charge the turn after.

the bit about Weapons special rules that says " the bearer..." or " equiped with this..." also aplies to the Colossal rule of the D Axe for the BT now, wich mean the trick that people where using to take it from Codex Daemons and give him a lesser reward Axe doesn't work anymore.

Seriously, if you don't paint that I'm coming over to your house with a team of Bloodthirsters armed with GW paintbrushes. After we bludgeon you to death with miscellaneous paint pots, we're going to paint that thing ourselves, watch it turn on you, then cut you in half with that killer D-Axe-ka-bob thing you made for it.

It's cool guys. I'm pretty sure Venom agreed to enter the ETL, and forum posts are legally binding contracts, right? :p

Dragonlover

Haha yes, I am planning to paint this dude for the ETL. Hopefully a couple of other things, too.
