Looks good venom.

I borrowed a base for my Jugg Lord Vurkoze and now I"m short one... do you know the size of those off the top of your head?

They're something like 90x52mm, aren't they?

EDIT: Yep. Here's the ones on the webstore: https://www.games-workshop.com/Citadel-90-52-Oval-Bases

Yep, what he said! Regular 40mm round just don't work for juggernauts, and especially with the new FAQ saying do whatever you want with bases, I figured I'd do just that. Does make it harder to bunch them up, though.

30 skullcrusher juggernauts (I think only ~24 assembled, riders not all built), and about 20 bloodcrusher juggernauts, 1 or 2 of which I'll use for Heralds of Khorne, the rest will be riderless to serve as spawn. Then my old juggerlord. 50 is a conservative estimate, probably closer to 55.

And the second unit:

Waiting for some inks to arrive before moving to the next steps of painting. Also have a big project to finish. Even if I failed my vow this is more paint than they've had on them in years!

3/5 of this unit is made of second hand minis off eBay. Unfortunately the primer wouldn't strip off, so it's a bit goopy in some places and/or pitted. Oh well.

I just can't stop building stuff. I've been meaning to make a KDK juggerlord for a while, and now that Goredrinker buffs for sure apply to all attacks, the time seemed right.

Here's a quick mock-up I cobbled together. I give you Orodruin, the wraith sunderer, scourge of Iyanden. Rumored to have once been known as Viconius, an honored Blood Angels veteran assault sergeant inducted into the Death Company and killed in combat during an incursion by the Brass Stampede. He commands throngs of juggernaut-mounted Skullcrushers and serves as equerry to Arctos Gorehowl himself, acting as a stable command presence the mortal warriors in the warhost can rely on to lead them to victory. Armed with a lightning claw and the daemonic axe known as Goredrinker, Orodruin wreaks indescribable carnage on the battlefield.

He looks sweeeeet. How did you do the legs to stick him on the jugger? I'll have to keep it in mind when I do my own lords.

Thanks Bro Mayhem! I use thunderwolf cavalry rider legs temporarily attached with blu tack adhesive putty.

I love it venom. I would thoroughly enjoy painting that squad up and the Lord. I have run out of parts personally. And while I have lots of patience for painting a Lord like that, I just can't seem to find it in me anymore to buy 2-4 kits to make a Lord like that. (although I did buy the Fantasy Khorne box for a ton of helmets and those weird spine fist thingies.)

I love the idea of Blood Crushers, and although I only take them in fun games, I'd really like to finish mine too.

I have a strong feeling my Crimson Slaughter and Red Corsairs are finished until 2017 so I may have to find some more of this stuff to do in the coming months.

Keep in mind while I call them "skullcrushers" that's because I used the parts from the WFB kit and they're a sort of analogue for 40k, even though the unit doesn't exist and they just count as bikers. I've never used bloodcrushers, and probably never will.

I will never run out of parts... I've easily spent as much on bits as a big FW kit would cost. I need to remember to use them more often, it's just easy to overload a marine with stuff and start to look ridiculous.

Seeing how good your stuff looks, looking forward to whatever you got coming next.

Some green stuffing is necessary, and a few skulls/trophies need to be added here and there, but I like how he's turning out. I realize some don't like the pose, which is a fair criticism. I tried an alternate pose/loadout that uses the old school power fist that has the taloned fingers for his left arm reaching forward and grabbing the jugger's shoulder, but it just wasn't what I wanted. Orodruin is roaring. Le raeg of Khrone!!1 :blink.:

Good work Venom!

So had my 2nd game with KDK today vs SW! (My primary Army xD) Mission was Maelstrom escalation.. I have not bought KDK objective cards yet so what hurt me the most was my rolling for objectives. All of Khornes favor was on my combat and save rolls with no favor on my objective or run rolls. My thoughts after 2 games... KDK is too much fun to play! I loves the rules, fluff, and most of the models and even though a lot of the reviews I've read of the codex say it was sloppily put together I personally think GW did a half-way decent job with it. I've been using 1 unit of 8 CSM in a rhino and a unit of 1x8 blood letters for the troops in my slaughtercult. The BL haven't really done anything for me yet... I do think the CSM are better than people give them credit. They may even be a better choice than Berzerkers. I'll wait till after I've played a few games with Berzerkers to decide that though. So far my Bloodthirster and my Lord on bike (with Aok and goredrinker) accompanied by hounds are my star performers. I really really wish they had given the thirsters FnP but then maybe they would have been too powerful... who am I kidding we're chaos nothing they'll ever give us will be TOO powerful ;) I am definitely looking forward to adding more skulls to the skull throne with this Army :biggrin.:

Awesome! So happy to hear of good experiences. I think by and large most of them with KDK are. It's going up against horribly OP armies that make the game unfun at times, not the army itself. You're right about how cool/good the army is, I think it's GW in spite of themselves making it work. :P

Got some more work done on my juggerlord...

Just about done sculpting the trim and adding spikes to his legs:

Maybe a little more trim on the top of his calf:

And the base:

I think I've done enough in terms of trim and details on him. Here's Orodruin with his legs attached:

The only thing I'm sorta iffy about is the (his) right armpit. The tubing isn't perfectly symmetrical (demented laughter), and it sorta bothers me. However, the thickness of the arms and shoulder joints doesn't match, because one is from the Dark Vengeance Aspiring Champ (Vrosh Tattersoul) and the other is from a Warp Talons kit.

Maybe I'll just leave it alone. Maybe I'll add a little piece of guitar string or something.
