WilhelmMiniatures' WIP projects-04.03.16, Blight Terminators

Recommended Posts

The Scandinavian painting competition, the Fang, is in the end of this month. I have a lot of entries planned, so this is going to be a busy month of painting! To motivate myself I thought it was a good idea to post progress on the entries here. My main entry will be a highly converted Bloodthirster, converted into some kind of Inquisitorial Weapon-project (gone horribly wrong). I'll try to post at least one update a week until the competition. Enjoy!

Inquisitorial weapon gone wrong indeed, brother. I think he's the right flavour of weirdness that John Blanche himself would like. Kudos. :tu:

  • 2 weeks later...

I've done some more painting on the Beast. Just a couple of details, and the base left to do! I really like how the model looks so far.

I really want to know how you made that base. I want to design some display bases for my units to add a bit of character and that is just the look I will be going for.

I made a quick description on how I made and painted the base on my blog, you should check it out: http://wilhelminiatures.blogspot.no

If you are wondering about anything else, feel free to ask!

Fantastic stuff, it was only when I saw the back of the model that I realised the scale of this beast. Really nice work, best of luck with the competition! thumbsup.gif

Yes, it's guide big. I based the model on a Bloodthirster, but realised that the head i was planning to use was way too big. I had to make the legs and torso longer. I'll try to get a picture of it beside a regular Bloodthirster when it's finished.

Thanks for the comments!

Thanks for the link, I do have a few questions:

Regarding the cork did you cover the entire base or just a few sections of it to add some height? And do you have any links to the textured plasticard? Also, the corpse I suppose is from the VC corpse cart, right, I could use some of those.

Thanks again.

The model had to have its left leg higher than the right, because of the angle. The cork was applied mainly to add hight. It was not applied all over, but different heights and sizes was randomly glued on. Texture paint, grass and crackle paint, was added between the cork to tie them together.

I bought the card here: http://shop.greenstuffworld.com/ABS-Plasticard/ABS-Plasticard-Embossed-Textured-Sheets/ABS-Plasticard-DoubleDiamond-Textured-Sheet-Double-Thread-A4

They have a lot of great basing materials on Greenstuff-World :D

The corpse is, as you said, one of the zombies pulling the corpse cart.

Skulls was purchased from Secret Weapon Miniatures.

I hope this helps, and that you make some great looking bases!

I have another update for The Fang, but this time it's not the Beast. I really like to paint large areas of skin, so i decided to paint a Forge World Great Unclean One. The FW GUO is one of my favourite models. I have already painted one, about a year ago. you can find it on my blog here. This is what I've done so far!

I have a quick update for you today.

The inquisitorial beast is soon finished, I only have a couple of details left to do.

I have also painted a lot on the Great Unclean One since last time. What do you think? Any tips on how to base it?

I have got an extra Imperial Knight sized base, and think I'll use it for the GUO, since the one it's standing on for the moment is quite small. So there will be room for some extra base-details.

Before saturday, I managed to convert and paint another entry for the Fang. I decided to join the Warhammer regiment category, with some heavily converted Plaguebearers. All the models are based on the original Plaguebearers, one is however base on an old metal daemon, and another on a Forge World daemon. I gave them all snail tails, instead of their legs, made from greenstuff. The shells on their backs are from real snails, found on a beach.

I'm really happy with the resolute, and they got 2nd in their category.

Thanks!

How big is that beast? Is it possible to get a picture of it with a spacemarine or something?
Will it be at GW stockholm?

Yes, the Beast won the norwegian open category, so it will be at GW Stockholm on saturday. it would be cool if you saw it there.

The model is currently at GW Oslo, and will be there for a month or so. I didn't have time to get some proper photos of it before the competition. I'll take a size picture when I get it back!

Here are my 2nd finished Forge World Great Unclean One. It came 2nd in the Warhemmer 40k Monster category at the Fang.

I'm very pleased with the skin-tone on this one! When I get it back from GW Oslo, I'll post a picture of it, beside the other GUO that I have. You can check out the one I painted last year here.

In the last couple of days I've been working on a warband for INQ28. The goal is to build and paint a warband, and a matching gaming board, so I'll be able to play a game during the summer.

I have a lot of ideas, and early WIP models on my desk, that will be finished soon. Here are the models I've done so far.
