WilhelmMiniatures' WIP projects-04.03.16, Blight Terminators

Thanks for the comments guys! I'll check out the INQ28 forum at Ammobunker :D

I've been working on more models for my INQ28 warband. Most Importantly the leader of the warband; Lord Inquisitor Hannibal Rex. This is another version of a model i did a while ago, my inquisitor lord on walking throne. I wanted to be able to use the same character in a game, so i decided to make the same inquisitor, only dismounted. I have given him the same torso and hairstyle, with mechanical legs to show how he walks around without the throne.

I also made a grim reaper looking tech-priest, with a pet crow and plasma gun servitor. I'm quite pleased with his relaxed creepy pose on this guy.

I also made a Herald for my Khorne Daemonkin army.

I've been away for a couple of weeks, and haven't been able to update for a little while. I have however started to paint my Inquisitorial warband while I was away. I've decided to paint the miniatures in a pale colour scheme, with a bright read spot colour.

This is what I've done so far. The first two are finished, and the next three just need some detail work.

Loving Inquisitor Rex, brother. Do you have any larger or closer pictures? I love seeing the detail on these sorts of conversions. smile.png

Thanks! Here are some close-ups:

I picked up the latest White Dwarf from Games Workshop toady, and this issue came with a toy surprise; one of the new models from Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. The first time I saw the leaked images from the new box, I knew I had to convert them into true-scale Space Marines.

Here are the one i converted from the model in WD. He is possibly the first of many, since I'll most likely buy Age of Sigmar when it comes out.

I have to start this post by apologising the lack of updates during the summer. I've been away for the most part of the holiday. But now I'm back, and have an update on my INQ28 project that I would like to share.

I have made two more true-scale Space Marines based on the Stormcast Eternals from the AoS starter set. One is ready for paint, and the other just needs some green-stuff work.

I have also put together some Mechanicus models to go with the rest of my inq28 warband. I still need to fill some gaps, and add additional details.

Thanks! I'm glad you like them. Here are some more conversions; Plague Mutants!

Most of the mutants where based on the Goblin Town goblins from GW's The Hobbit range. I really like to convert these models. They are among the most Nurgleish looking models GW has ever made. Even more so than many of GW's Nurgle models! The few heads that where used, where the severed heads from GWs Blight Kings.

By adding some additional details, I made them look more infected by Nurgles many horrible deceases. The lumps was made by several already dry balls of any sculpting putty I was using at the moment. When finishing a project using green stuff, I often roll small balls of the left over putty for this purpose. To blend the lumps smoothly into the body, I used a lot of thick superglue. I added superglue to the body and dipped it in a bowl filled with the green stuff balls. When the balls had dried in place, I covered them with a second layer of super glue. I sprayed the glue with superglue activator immediately after. This made the glue dry in place, acting like a skin over the lumps, blending them perfectly into the rest of the body. Doing this is a lot more effective than smoothing it all together with green stuff.

Thanks guys! I guess I had the flood on the back of my head when I made them smile.png

I have a small update on my Nurgle force; some Plague Hounds to go with the Plague Mutants from my last post.

Have you ever played Dishonored? Specifically the DLC story packs? Spitting image of the hellhounds in that game.

Regardless, this thread is awesome, and these hounds are rockin'.

Brother-Captain Arkhan, I have played Dishonored, but haven't played the DLC. I did however check out the hellhounds, and they are a great inspiration!

The Plague Hounds are now finished. I'm quite happy with them, so I'm going to convert the rest of the Chaos Warhounds box. This makes another 7 hounds. I think I'll need some colour variations on the next batch, any suggestions?

Thanks for the tip, GrandMagnus!

I just collected my entry for the open category at The Fang 2015. It has been on display at GW Oslo for the last couple of months, but I finally brought it home, and photographed it. It was hard to get a good photo of this model. You can it from more angles and details at my blog

This is one of the best models I've painted, and I'm very happy with the result at the fang. It got 1st place in the open category in Oslo, and 2nd at the finals in Stockholm. I hope you like it!

Thanks! That is indeed a human tied to its back. I like to think of him as the beasts driver.

It has been a while since I posted some updates here, so I have a couple of new things to show you.

First of is my tactical squad of sigmarines, ready to paint!

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SuP9vAMjJus/VfX9aSmSfcI/AAAAAAAABCU/SfnwMAApjCA/s640/tactical1WIP1.JPG

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FjHWQ-FNgCw/VfX9aE2fwmI/AAAAAAAABCQ/7l6hMJ928II/s640/tactical1WIP2.JPG

I also made my own version of Electro Priests, based on fantasy flagellants. I always thought the Electro Priests should be weak humans, with electricity running trough them, not Space Marine sized brutes.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XINTrtd1df0/VfX9ZeBdtkI/AAAAAAAABCI/Mp7gJVHZ7zA/s640/elpriestsWIP.JPG

Lastly I started to paint an Imperial Knight.

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VM6OHb-9SCs/VfidBr-VaPI/AAAAAAAABCs/alvuSJO7eyQ/s640/IMG_7719.jpg

These models are all part of the same project. Together with my Inquisitorial warband and some other mechanicus models, that will be my entry for this years armies on parade, in the end of October.

I just started painting the Space Marines for my Armies on Parade entry. The rest of the army are mostly dirty white, black and grey, so the Marines really stand out. The fact that they are based on Stormcast Eternals also makes them a lot bigger than the human sized models. Hope you like them so far!

The Electro Priests are almost finished, so I'll post them in a couple of days.

Thanks, glad you like them so far!

The Electro Priests are finished! If you have any questions about paining or converting these models, feel free to ask. If you would like to see more pictures from different angles, check it out here. I'm rely happy with how they turned out, and hope they'll look good tighter with the sigmarines and the rest of the army for Armies on Parade.
