Dosjetka
Looking good, Arkhan. I especially like the militia: are those bits and pieces from Anvil Industries? Also, the Spyral Prime table looks incredible. Can't wait to play on it later on this year! :) BrotherCaptainArkhan 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308809-a-lesser-son-of-greater-fathers-dabbling-in-epic/page/22/#findComment-4728726 Share on other sites
BrotherCaptainArkhan
Majestic. Loving what I can see of the militia. The Techpriest, though... I can't help but feel as though his hood/robes lack texture. They're well-painted, yes, but they don't read immediately as cloth for whatever reason. Can't quite put my finger on why... Cheers mate. To be honest, I fully agree with you, something else is needed. I'll go over him again, maybe some transfers and slightly heavier highlighting in patches to give the effect of worn cloth. Looking good, Arkhan. I especially like the militia: are those bits and pieces from Anvil Industries? Also, the Spyral Prime table looks incredible. Can't wait to play on it later on this year! Yes mate, Anvil indeed. Spyral Prime is an amazing table (although in fairness they all are). If you're heading over for any period of time, let me know! Brother-Chaplain Kage
The simple elegance of your painting style gets me every time. Sweet mother of Perturabo, that Land Raider is a beautiful piece of war material! Thanks fella, hopefully it does the job. Fantasticly subdued piece as usual. Loving the sponsons, and how jury-rigged they look! Ha, definitely not top-of-the-line tech. I hope it doesn't look too jury-rigged in the Orkish sense, tho... Splendid Thanks! Holy. Balls. Soldier of Dorn
Best conversion of that model I've seen to date, man. Looks excellent. I personally wouldn't keep the backpack, though it's been long enough since I assembled mine that I don't actually recall how she assembles and how easy it would have been to modify. Either case, it looks fine - more a personal design opinion than anything. But excellent work all round. BrotherCaptainArkhan
Cheers for the kind words guys. Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm keeping it because she looks awfully spindly without (but it would have been very easy to remove). However, a better modeller than me might have bulked out the model instead by making the cloak even furrier - hmmm... I love it all. A Dream for a Better Age. #goldstandardBut... This is where your dreams for a better age die. (As an alpha legion boot snuffs out your existence) And that gives me an excellent idea for a future title... ;) Mmmmm..... lovely stuff. Been catching up, the black shield Raven guard a few pages back is just awesome. Love the SoS above to. Everything you touch turns to model gold. Truly kind words, cheers man. That landraider is really impressive. How did you make the lascannon sponsons? Thanks! They're really easy - just one lascannon from the regular LR set, and a lascannon from the Stormraven turret fit on top of the LR lascannon. And then you use the fairing from the SR on the top cannon, and the targeting array from the LR cannons on the side of the big cannon. Final completion before I unleash the Leviathan upon you all... Grim Dog Studios
I don't come on the BnC for a few weeks and I miss all of these updates.. Cracking stuff as usual mate, keep it up! Where've you been? Need someone else to keep up the gritty-XIII Legion side here I broke my thumb and couldn't paint for about a month and then lost interest for while. Slowly regaining it though and should have some stuff painted up in the next couple of weeks. Good work though mate, can't wait until the next update! Augustus b'Raass
Dude. The Land Raider, as everyone has already said, is beautiful in its subdued elegance. It's also the first time I've seen the Kromlech dozer blade applied, and it looks great. But those rapiers. Consider yourself sued. :p Seriously, they look fantastic. Well done, mate!
