Agreed.

What about his captains? They could get something like dark apostles.

Or do they already have these?

Or, given that the Eagle Warriors are inspired by pre European Southern and Central American civs, maybe the Captains&Chaplains/Priests are the same thing? Would help differentiate them from the WB a bit

Does he really need to? If he corrupts the head, can it wander downwards to hell? So he corrupts raktra-> raktra corrupts his direct subordinates they corrupt the next down the line. Using dark apostles will be imho too close to word bearers turf. So he is confident e ough that if he corrults the head, the fish will smell horrible over time, creating chaos and anarchy. AO108 once told me that the joker ( dark knight ledger version) was a key inspiration for trsvier. Any ideas how we can reflect this in the insurrection and traviers way of corrupting others?

I could envision aome officers or folowers who were corrupted who take action when traviers "good" personality is in charge. They would oversee the project just like in fight club^^.

Where did the joker convince through fear? He awakened the worst parts in his followers. Just look how he pushed over thr cliff.

The moment he used fear, he failed ( people on the boat)

Seriously?

Threatening the crime lords with a bomb is both, an act of having balls and fear /intimidation which itself makes use of fear of punishment.

Acts of terrorism (hospital scene) = fear

Every scene including his knife consists of fear before his pure madness. Will he hurt me or not?

Though I agree that his trademark is anarchy and awakening the worst part in oneself, fear is as well a key point in his behavior.

That's why Ledger > all other Joker incarnations

Even Letos is just simply a MAD gangster. Nolans Joker is a nightmare incarnate. :)

Aehm you mix there something up:) he didn't convince with fear.

When he tried to convince the people on the boat with fear he failed.

The others he terrorizes with fear. But he doesn't ever convince somebody using fear. ( maybe the stick fight)

Terrorizing people is not the exact same like to convince them to follow him. Those culprits who follow him, worship him, believe in his anarchy and chaos. "

Just think of the man who had a cellphone in his belly: (don't know the exact english words): he told me, he.let.me.shine.

I agree with you.

Maybe we both were a bit of a nitpicker. Should have said, he used fear, etc as a mean to reach his goals. ;)

Nevertheless, Travier must have been a rhetorical genius in order to corrupt his brothers by bringing the worst in them to life. IMHO a bit too much work for one alone.

Well corrupting Raktra is not the feat I guess. "Herre, have a raw steak....good boy...btw...that was human flesh..and the cup of wine? Bloooooooood. You want more? Well there is this ancient beeing refering to himself as the bloodgod. So you get plenty of flesh to chop and blood to drink if you sign this little contrsct of servicr and reject your loyalty to this vegan emperor."

I think convincing Icarion is the feat, preparing the others to be taken by the chaos gods? With icarions help? I think that could be easier than you imagine, because they fell while doing in their view justified things. Well except for raktra. He nust wants raw meat.

And you can be sure that he is a rethoric and charismatic masgermind. He turns the most beloved son of the emperor. The one who "knows" chaos and its dangers.

No, simply applying the trickle down effect won't be enough. A Primarch and a legion are two separate entities. Merely corrupting a Primarch doesn't guarantee a legion will follow suit. Even within the World Eaters, there was an element resisting corruption.

Plus, I'm sure the Chaos gods would want to see the extra effort.

Yeah the thing to remember is that in great numbers these Astartes already fought in combat with The God Emperor, many of them far before their Primarch was found. You can't really just handwave the Emperor's influence on people. So the Legionaries really need their own influencers as they might never fight alongside their Primarch.

Alright, still waiting on confirmation for armour colors, but here's what he told me. They were Thora-pattern Terminator armour, it's a variation on Tartaros. According to the rules, all it has is an in-built Iron Halo.

They typically wear animal pelts, think South American jungles. What is unique to them and Mexicatii Prime are the ground dragons. Think anacondas but purple with legs. Vicious predators on the planet. The Jaguar Toa usually add ground dragon scales to their armour.

Haven't finished the book but as far as I remember:

a whole civilization corrupted by Chaos. In a more veiled way. John Grammaticus (who is a Perpetual) recognized some iconography in one of the cities as ancient cult stuff. Further, reptiles were favored by them. There was one scene in which a house was flooded with snakes and lizards (warp shenanigans), forcing some of the AL top Astartes into retreat.

I stopped it shortly after as I was distracted by another book. Think it was the Ragnar novel...
