1500 alpha legion with skorr

Hi, here's a list in progress:

ROW

Chosen Duty (makes veterans troops)

HQ

~Skorr = 125

Elites

~3 grav cannons = 225

~Mortis contemptor dreadnought (+ 2 kheres assualt cannons) = 180

~3 apothecaries ( artificer armour, and augury scanners) = 180

Troops

~Veteran squad 1 (+4 marines, nuncio vox, heavy flamer, combi-weapon) = 220

~Veteran squad 2 (same as squad 1 but with 1 less marine (8 marines)) = 205

~Veteran squad 3 (+5 marines, meltabombs, +2 meltaguns) = 255

Fast Attack

Heavy Support

~Sicaran (+ heavy bolters, armoured ceramite) = 175

~whirlwind scorpius = 115

Grand total = 1500

So the idea is to use skorr's warlord trait that allows me to take a strategic trait of my choice, which will probably be Master of Ambush, unless i play defensively, he and each veteran squad infiltrate, then i pick mutable tactics of my choice, and add whatever veteran upgrade i think i need. Im not sure if an apothecary counts as a separate unit for Master of ambush, so i might need to get rid of them.

This is a basic list, but I'm hoping to give it upgrades for the future, a typhon, Alpharius replacing Skorr, and adding armillius dynat, etc.

So any tips on how to make this more dynamic, fluffy even?

Welcome to the B&C! Firstly, you should probably remove specific points costs from your list, as per the forum guidelines.

Apothecaries won't count towards Master of Ambush, so that's fine. I'd try to find the points to upgrade those heavy bolter sponsons to lascannon, as they'll do much more for you.

What are you taking for Mutable Tactics? Tank Hunters is generally one of the better ones, and you won't need Infiltrate. Sniper for your Veteran Tactics will be a safe option too.

As for fluff, Alpha Legion are anything you want them to be - that's the beauty of them. They are dynamic in the rules, and this gives you the ability to build any sort of background you like! Make sure you have a good read of the Tactica forum, as this will be invaluable.

 Thanks!

Sweet, those apothecaries would have helped a lot to keep those expensive squads on board. Hmm ill drop 2 marines so i can make the points back.

Mutable tactics, since I have Skorr, would have either been counter-attack if there were a lot of assault infantry (world eaters), tank hunters if there are going to be lots of tanks (iron hands), making those grav cannons just a perfect add-on, and scout if I really had to get in close against an opponent who's playing defensively.

Veteran tactics will be sniper. I just cant pass up the idea of a squad killing tanks with their rending with tank hunters and wounding on a permanent 4+.
