These are  some Betrayal at Calth Terminators converted to be Thousand Sons:

The conversion is pretty simple, Just chopping the FW TS upgrade head in half to fit into the collar, the hair plume comes from the High elf horse tails from the Island of Blood set,  green stuff scarab on belt, and the combi-weapons were created by sanding down and fitting the combi-weapon parts from Betrayal at Calth with the Plastic Terminator bolter.

Finally painted my Space Wolves Contemptor Dreadnought. I'm less pleased about the shoulder symbol, but it's okay for something I painted on free hand.

Someone asked about my painting method. I will type it out later at some point.

Yup, I cut apart all but the knees.

The waist is rotated slightly legs rotated outwards at the hip, and left lef brought forward to stand on the helm - you can just see the guitar wire I put into the join on the left leg.

Im unsure on whether to use this head, or possibly look for a more "skullesk" helm for my chaplain. Im also possibly looking at filling in the grills and hand painting a skull mask. Decisions decisions.

The idea for this conversion is that he is leading his men forward with a speech or a cheer to coax his men and (primarily) the auxillia attached to the task force into a counter charge. Perhaps he's giving a speech about the horrors that march against them? Who knows for now msn-wink.gif . Not a very complicated conversion, but I think it counts.

Can someone please tell me where these shoulder pads are from?

I'm 90% that they're from the SoH Reavers, or the SoH Command set.

Update on the Master of Signals. Gloss coat on in prep for oil wash followed by matt varnish, weathering powders and then another final matt coat

Edit: just noticed I forgot to do the parchments (clearly battlefield maps). I'll do them after the oil wash. Shouldn't be a drama.

Just wondering if anyone's had any luck removing the arms off the Chaplain model and giving him new ones while retaining the cloak? Awkward, I know, but it looks cool and I can't fit his new loadout any other way.

The hands should be free of the cloak. Do you really need to replace the whole arms? What are you trying to give him?

I was able to remove the left arm entirely as I wanted to use a legion specific shoulder pad instead of the one built in. Ended up having to use greenstuff to re sculpt a small section of the cloak over the shoulder but I think it was fairly easy and I'm no expert with greenstuff at all. The right arm though is a bit more daunting cause it has more cloak coverage.

Boarding shield and a combi-flamer. Truth be told, I think I can give him the combi-flamer, just repositioning his forearm a little, but the left arm has got to go to fit the shield properly. Besides, with the way this new arm would fit into the shoulder pad, he'd look like he's trying to do weightlifting with it. tongue.png

This is going to be a bit photo heavy, but today I am proud to have finished the conversion of my dreadnaught

I finally managed to get his chopped up leg done :)

No longer is he named Hoppy-Stomp

Yah! Jazz-hand(s)

I can't find his base, but I need to work out if I want him to have his foot planted

http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb456/dantay_xv/20160128_2112271.jpg

Or stepping on something about to make a lunge for someone/something.

I want to hug you & squeeze you & call you George!! :D

I also swapped out this guys sword for a mighty axe!!

I didn't realise how Portly he looks with the shoulderguard-belt buckle. He is going to need a suitable name and back-story. Any ideas??

Also onky put small pelts under the shoulderpads. Figured it would give a nice layered effect to the armour and alsohelps stop the armour plates rubbing n making excess noise. He may be big, but he is still a silent killer :D

He is not done. Working on a gorget  and some doodahs

Lastly Is Jorgmundr, the twin blades of Fenris

Then I figured it out, his sword had no pommel, so a few snips later and

Looks a bit better, again I think he needs something to make him a bit more Fenryka.

He has a little potential to make a half decent Ragnar conversion/kitbash :)

So what do you think?
