Hello everyone, first time poster here, hopefully I'll get the hang of this.

Like many others I've been really impressed and inspired with what people have created in this thread and thought I'd post what I came up with while using my average skills.

So I really liked the chaplain model, but as my 30K legion is World Eaters I didn't really think that a chaplain would fit in with the theme and style of the legion. However, my 40K Ultramarines could do with a chaplain, so he's going into that army. However, his helmet with the crest is, I feel, more appropriate for a Captain, so a head swap was needed. After he'd been decapitated with a sharp knife I had a rummage through my bits box to fine a suitable replacement. I eventually settled for the bearded head from the Ultramarines upgrade sprue, but I thought I'd share one of the builds I came up with but ultimately didn't use.

One of the heads I tried was a Skitarii ranger head, with the hood. I thought, while it looked awesome, it didn't really fit in with the look and feel I was going for with my Ultramarines. However, if you were to also swap out the Crozius with a scythe, I think you'd have a really cool looking Death Guard Praetor. So if someone wants to use this idea then I'd love to see how it turns out.

Here are some of my World Eaters I've painted so far. I just need to get and apply some legion transfers to the shoulders and they'll be complete.

As a Death Guard player I love this idea, I'm afraid you'll have to consider it stolen now

Praetor for my Alpha Legion built from the Calth one, with arms grafted on from the Cataphractii. Arm swaps not too tricky, just lots of hacking down shoulders to fit under Praetor shoulders and working it out with blue-tac.

Head swap pretty easy, sever and replace baldy, no idea where this one is from.

Also removed the right leg above knee and rotated it, any ugliness covered by kneepad and cloak, and I think it just about works in running forward pose. Idea from Eternal Hunt blog - https://eternalhunt.wordpress.com/tag/praetor/

Considering adding a winged skull standard top icon to top of armour, but bound to get damaged.

Aware it's not a legal weapon combo, but it's cool I think. Probably play Paragon blade with claw representing power dagger and digital lasers.

I posted this chap before and elsewhere, but thought you might like to see him painted (and with a head!) in this thread.  I've already used that head on a veteran sergeant, but after dry fitting quite a few, I couldn't resist using it again.

Delegatus

Now I think I'm going to have to buy another Kurtha Sedd to copy some of the great ideas on this thread.

Quick question here as I've seen people do it different ways through this thread are the extra armour shoulder plates on the terminators meant to connect to the torso or leave a space in between the torso and the shoulder?

Now they are completely painted thought I should post the pics here too:

If you look at the art plates in the HH books, there's a slight gap between shoulder plate and torso armour on the Cataphractii. I've built mine wth the plates right up against the body though, since I don't really like how they look with a gap.

Hmm, this thread slowly seems to be losing a bit of steam, and yet I am still having so much fun hacking apart those Betrayal at Calth models ;)

Case in point, my 30k World Eaters so far, almost exclusively based on the BaC plastics:

And here are the most recent completions:

The finished plastic Contemptor conversion (I am really happy with this guy):

A veteran sergeant using the legs from the Kurtha Sedd model:

This guy also happens to be a younger version of one of my earlier 40k Chaos Lords:

And finally, a World Eaters Chaplain that I've just put the finishing touches on:

Feedback welcome! :)

The WE chaplain looks great. Where's hat helmet from?

How did you do the pistol grip and trigger guard on the B@C bolter?

Did you do something to the legs of the Contemptor? The pose looks so much better than in GW's pictures.

Thanks! :)

The Chaplain's helmet came from the limited edition Interrogator Chaplain that was packed-in with the first edition of Dark Vengeance. As for the bolter, I simply glued on the grip from a 40k bolter -- simple as that... ;)

That's what I thought for the bolter. Unfortunately those are in limited supply. AFAIK no 3rd party manufacturer makes grips yet.

Omg....the.guy with the two axes gives me shivers!!!

Gut gemacht!

So guys, is it possible to convert the Terminator Praetor in the box to Calas Typhon? I got his head, a Power Scythe Hand, and A Hand Flamer off a Blood Angel so would it be hard to convert?

Actually, it shouldn't be too hard. The head can be changed with a single cut, and you could put the hand flamer in the chainfist hand, removing the chainsaw and coupling it to the remaining structure. Then you cut the combifusion hand and swap it with the scythe one. Depending on the size the head might give you some issues, but you can give it a bit more space easily enough.

On the other hand, putting the scythe on the left arm could make a badass stance, with the scythe resting over his shoulder while he torches something with the dlamer.
