I've been busy moving, so I haven't had much time to take pictures let alone get much work done. However, the updates will come. Eidolon is complete, everything has finally been rebased, a deredeo is done, and only two vindicators and a praetor remain for my death guard. I was posting in the AoD forum, but since part of my post this evening involves something not entirely 30k I'll starting posting here again. It was relatively easy and only cost around $100 usd with all the supplies coming from Home Depot. Now onto actual models. I've finally decided on a second legion after seeing the absolutely amazing work from Athrawes here on B & C and Vhalayar from Heresy 30k. In addition, my good buddy absolutely loves SW and has been begging me to pick up T Sons so we could have campaign games after Inferno comes out. Athrawes Posted October 24, 2016 Share Posted October 24, 2016 The test model looks great! I assume you're working up from a gold base not silver? Also, it's looks like you have the chalky effect from the nuln oil wash which can dull the metallic sheen of the red. The same thing happened to me on my Sons. What I found is that going over that area again, after, with a little bit of clear red on a brush, blends the nuln oil in with the metallic red giving you the shading without losing the metallic sheen. As a bonus, this discovery also meant I had to be less careful when applying the nuln oil wash to the recesses. I look forward to seeing more brother! I think the chalky effect is from my pin wash in attempt to emulate dust. Your thought that it was the nulin oil does make me want to go back and make sure it looks like dust instead of an unintended side effect. Thanks for the catch. After picking up my BoP box, I did a little work on sisters and got my Ahriman ready for paint. Here are my sisters. The bases are still WiP and I'm still messing around with the swords. I can't seem to get the part between the blade and the hilt just right. Any suggestions would be awesome. Also, I'm considering working in some more Valdor gold on the armor for some low lights. I finally have a nice update I've been working on a few things and am happy to report that I've finished my null maidens. I really wish I was able to snag some more of these since I absolutely love the models. I've added some more gold to the armor and finished the bases.
