Take X unit, get free VP's...

Uh oh.

Doubt it would be that straightforward, at least not like the maelstrom cards you get in 40k. Plus I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that failing to meet the objectives means an auto lose, or possibly a draw at best

Not sure why there's a need to guess when it's rather clear what we can expect.

No use wishlisting since we already have a pretty solid idea of what to expect:

  • Black Shields
  • Knights Errant: Garro, Rubio, 'Make your own'
  • White Scars (NO CHARACTERS OR SPECIAL UNITS)
  • Blood Angels (NO CHARACTERS OR SPECIAL UNITS)
  • Dark Angels (NO CHARACTERS OR SPECIAL UNITS)
  • Unit Entries for models released in between books or yet to be released:
    • Leviathan
    • Mastodon
    • Atrapos
    • maybe we'll see the Contemptor-Cortus
    • etc.
  • Rites of War for Every Legion Currently released including those added with the book. Should total around 20+ with 5 Being Generic or something along those lines.
  • A new Knight Chassis has been mentioned at the GW Anniversary -  no word on if its in the book or not.
  • A few Doodads I'm Forgetting here and there.

Add onto that the Typical Forgeworld Book Treatment and we're in for a content-filled release.

add 5 mini campaigns for the fluff part, Questoris Knights update and Dark Mechanicus RoW ^.^

Atia - could you clarify the 5 mini campaigns fluff. Cause I buy books specifically for the story!

Yes, special characters are perfect indicators of what to expect.

In this case I think it is. They've sort of defined what the weird objectives are, the win-or-stalemate condition, etc.

The wording makes it clear that we can expect each character to have their own unique objectives (or at least some unique ones), but... yes, I think it's a good indicator. I never said it was a perfect one though, so I'm not sure where that came from msn-wink.gif

10 days to go ;)

But as a little teaser, Blood Angels one should be about some who weren't at Signus afaik ^.^

We know there's an Alpha Legion vs White Scars mini campaign, and the above with a Blood Angels mini-campaign. Obviously we'll see Dark Angels in one too, and I remember hearing Iron Warriors are involved in another. Oh, Iron Hands and Salamanders pics have been shown that'll show up, so Shattered Legions will be part of another one... aaand probably one of the campaigns involves Black Shields. Oh and Dark Mechanicum & House Malinax.

So...

1: AL vs WS

2: BA vs ???

3: DA vs ???

4: Shattered Legions vs ???

5: ??? vs ???

Where ??? can = IW, Dark Mechanicum or Black Shields for any of the above. Still leaves 2 ???'s that could be whatever. Maybe Emperor's Children and/or World Eaters for the sheer sake of getting all the Legions their unit marking pages. That'd be nice, but I wouldn't count on it because this book looks like it'll already be jam packed with content.

Any word on the page count of this thing?

I'd guess that one of the campaigns will feature SoH lead by Tybalt Marr (assigned by Horus to hunt down the Shattered Legions) facing off against Iron Hands / Shattered Legions under the command of Shadrak Meduson, as we've had indications both will receive rules in the book.

TheRedKnight did a good write up of stuff garnered from the 40k open day here

Very interested to see the rules for this, and how many points it is - it's one of the most popular super heavy models in a long while and i expect it to be very common in games around here even with the price tag if it's not 750+ points

Do we know what sort of format the Black Shields will have: single units like the knights errant, weird army building like Shattered Legions, only a rite of war to be applied to a normal legion army ?

The first couple of Weekenders we got advance previews of the timetable, but I think the last couple they've been hanging on until the event to tell us everything. It would be nice to plan out the event before I get there, but then again this gives us something to do whilst we're in the sales queue.

I just want to know if A-D-B is in attendance, and whether I need to bring some of his books along for him to sign.

Meh, take a couple along just in case: you can fit a small enough one in a coat pocket, which is always better then nothing :)

I like how the Mastodon is painted in the colours of the BEST LEGION!

I couldn't resist.

I have the perfect counter to this. Sadly, naughty words.
