HH Weekender 2016 thread (Titan Secutarii pg. 56)

Leif, there is nothing to say you can't mix the mark 3 torso's with mark 4 legs etc.

Then you have mark 5.

Besides these are upgrades, so only put a piece of upgrade kit on every 3rd model or so, for some Fenryka flavour.

Have they said if Custodes could be used as Agents of the Emperor too ?

Have we got any new about possible Agents of the Warmaster ?

Are TSons counted as Traitors or Blackshields ? Or will Prospero be loyalist v. Loyalist ?

And do we know in which army list the Secutarii will be included ? ie, will I be able to start a Mechanicum allied contingent with Secutarii but no Titans ?

I hoped to avoid getting into FW products for my wallet's sake but those Wolf torsos and sketches look to good.

Missed it, where are torso pics please?

look on Atia's battle bunnies link here.

Unfortunately, I have a sinking suspicion (this is just speculation unless somebody gets a last-minute question at the event, since I'm not there) that sisters will be limited to a single model - used as an Agent of the Emperor HQ and one per army... similar to the Expedition Navigator.  Basically the minimum possible effort put in just so that they can say "See, we didn't ignore Sisters."  Hard to vote with your wallet when its only one mini and you can't use more than one.

Well if you are determined to be super negative...

99% its going to be a couple of squad types and a character like the old ally lists. Given their specialised nature theres probably not much more you can do with them tbh.

I think we know of maybe 4 or 5 units each - or unit concepts rather - for the custodes and sisters, but the custodes also have vehicles shown in the form of dreads and hover-rhinos. I think we can expect smaller lists than the solar auxilia, for example, for both.

Looking forward to seeing Russ's wolves. Also Spireguard! I wonder how different these will be from the militia list, I would've thought you could probably cover them with the provenance rules.

According to BattleBunnies it's a 'small allied list'.

That makes me feel better... so long as there are troops and an HQ, I can work with that... maybe simulate a full force by bringing in a legion tank company with that new rite of war - so legion vehicles with no legionaries - painted in Sisters colors - with the 'small allied list' of sisters forming all the boots on the ground.  I'd be stuck with a legion HQ with Master of the Legion hanging around, but I can hide him in a Damocles Rhino and if he has to come out call him an 'advisor' LOL

Limited Sisters of Silence is a bummer. Vote with your wallets people. When they come out - buy big! Show GW we do want female armies and characters!

From a fluff perspective you wouldn't want to field an entire army just of Sisters you'd want them spread throughout your forces so you could block as many enemy psykers as possible.  Using them en masse as front line grunt infantry doesn't make sense. Fielding them in lots of small units with other Legions maximises their abilities.

OOoh, special units and consuls for wolves ? I wonder what ? Wulfen and Wulf priest will probably be different, and the Rune Priest might get a different profile to the Librarian, what about Iron Priests ?

Actually, the Sisters of Silence were a completely distinct fighting force from what I'd heard.

But very specialised and often organised in kill teams like the Deathwatch.

That doesn't mean they shouldn't get a full list, I'm still waiting for a Deathwatch codex :P

The legio cybernetica, are they what the 40k skitarii is based upon?

No, Skitarii are what the 40k Skitarii are based on.

Legio Cybernetica is all the big stompy robots that you dont see in 40k anymore.

Secutarii comes from the Roman Gladiator Secutor which means follower or pursuer. Probably they are intended to be fielded as support/guards for titans.

As I understand, the Sisters of Silence aren't necessarily an army in themselves. They are a unique and relevant capability. An ally in the truest sense of the word.

Although I'm a SW person, all of the content in the book is very interesting to me. I imagine FW is going to have a very good Christmas season this year, since it appears that I'm not alone.

Atia and Mr. Parker, thank you for your efforts. Much appreciated.

You're not exactly wrong, as I said, the helmet upgrades will be the really make or break bit. But it doesn't change my disappointment that the Legion I've been waiting so long for gets my least favourite armour type for its upgrades.

That's only if its a joint operation - Sisters of Silence do their own things too.  In one of the books they were basically leveling a hive city with gun-ships and numerous squads (all just to catch one psyker no less - but having to fight whatever gangs/etc happened to be in the way)... no legion support.  They'd have been fine except for Alpha Legion being Alpha Legion-y.

They'd also do boarding actions (Zone Mortalis) to capture Xenos psykers.

Edit: They also are established as having their own warships - which are rarely seen by the Legions, as Garro commented.  I'm pretty sure that Sisters assisting the legions is a rarity, but because of the legion-centric-ness of the books that's all we really get to see.  When they showed up in the beginning of Eisenstein, they didn't even tell Mortarion about their objective and pretty much went on their own - Garro just happened to be in the right place at the right time to participate in their ultimate objective (which was, again, separate from the legion's)

Of bloody course. Wait this long and it's the armour Mk I care least about, not to mention the hoard of MkIV I've got waiting for this release is looking like a poorer investment. Grumblegrumblegrumble.

Though the real kicker will be Helmets. As some of the Legion kits (DA and WS specifically) are altered enough that they can reasonably go with any armour, whereas stuff like the IFs really can only go with MkII or III. Here's hoping I haven't wasted my time and cash .

I don't think anyone will notice you using the conversion kits on mkiv plastic marines. Or berate you for it.

If YOU think mkiv looks best, go for it.

So stoked For the Fenryka, Custodes and also the Sisters.

T-Sons and Spireguard... Yeah pretty excited for that too.

Mechanicum.... Growing on me.. Like Athletes foot, but they are growing on me :)

But I will notice, and needing to mix armour bits to get that Legion flavour does sadden me somewhat. Is it a deal breaker? Not for the torsos (Helmets on the other hand...), just not an ideal outcome.

Plastic MkIV? Heh, you underestimate just how long I've been waiting and stockpiling, resin MkIV or bust! tongue.png
