Marauder Chiefs can't take rad grenades unless running Outlanders. Terminator Reaver Lords, for some reason, also can't take them unless running Outlanders. Though I feel that is an unintentional omission, that's what is in the book. :(

With Marauders gaining +1 Strength and the option to attach Apothecaries, they are definitely awesome now! Time to list-hammer Endryd Haar's Fangs of the Emperor!

My bad.

Anyway, as 'bad' as Destroyers are, I think they could be a nice addition to a blackshield force, at least fluffwise. Moritat with dual serpentas, 5 man destroyer squad, rad ML, phosphex for the sarge and jump pack for everybody maybe?

Use the points to make a 20 man Destoryers blob with dual pistols and more special weapons :D out of a marauder squad

Yes!! They can take a second pistol, so they're pretty much made for this! Throw your Reaver Lord or a Forge Lord in there and you have a pretty damn good reason to buy those sexy Destroyer models!

So I'm trying to plan out the ultimate Stormlord pain train. So far I'm thinking:

  • Marauder squad, 16 bodies, chief with fist, shotguns, 3 power axes
  • Reaver Lord with all the trimmings
  • Chaplain for zealot and fear with boarding shield
  • Apothecary to go with Marauders
  • 2x10 Support squad with pariah flamers
  • Stormlord

That's 40 bodies of infantry mincing action. The 20 flamers can fire out of the Stormlord, while the Marauder squad charges anything in range. It is about ~1.5k, ~1.7k after the second marauder squad to make legal, depending on upgrades but in 3k+ games it looks like a blast. Then fill the rest of the points up with laser vindis/other AT.

I'm drawn to outlanders, but in this case Chymerie or Death Seekers would work better.

Can you charge out of a Storm Lord (as it seems to be open topped in everything but damage rolls?)

If so.... Now that is an idea....

>TFW You realise you actually have a fairly decent number of infantry and chain-axes you could use to make a sweet allied marauder unit....

Yup. Used to use one in my Solar Aux regularly.

It's open topped in every positive way that counts :laugh.:

For a second I got really excited as I thought the thing could take heavy flamers... So I could use a BA one covered in assault cannons to add to the madness!

...But they are all twin linked so RAW a no go :(

Use the points to make a 20 man Destoryers blob with dual pistols and more special weapons :biggrin.: out of a marauder squad

Woo, I like it ^_^

I wouldnt get too excited about the +1S on the chainaxes, its being said that it is a typo and will be corrected, mainly because Chainaxes are something in the primary 40K rulebook and need to be updated there.

...if thats true...please break the news to the World Eaters in the kindest, most gentle way possible :unsure.: :wacko.: :tongue.:
