Lol. Poor you, but atleast now we have a date, we have a start point to focus on.

I am not sure when you are due, but this also sets an end point for the ETL, so you can now set a tentative date for you to star and finish your vows before baby arrives smile.png

Personally the 15th fits quite well. I am starting a new job next week and will be away for the first 2 weeks of the ETL and I will not be taking anything away with me for the first trip, so I can get an idea of how things will work.

I may be quiet, but I am still lurking around :)

Is Semper hoping some of us get impatient and start painting early?

I think his plan is to wait until I'm as pregnant as I can be so I won't be able to paint for long stints at a time...
First of all congratulation is in order!!!

I'd recommend small manageable vows so you don't feel like you have to paint when the nesting instincts kick in. We've got 3 kids and it's surprising how quickly hormones kick in and that hardwired response takes over. When are you due?

Congratulation on the job front. Lol ... It sounds like a good plan to have your head in the right place for your first couple of weeks. :tu:

I'm due in mid July so I'm really only looking at 2 months most likely where I'll be able to do any serious painting. But I'm hoping I can do quite a bit as I sort of view this as my last big chance to really work on my army before priorities shift elsewhere as children are apt to cause I'm told.

And you're told correctly! Come August you will look at minis and think: did I ever use to spend time on those?

Oh, don't give up. There are ways to do a liiiiittle bit of hobby here and there, while the pup has something to do.

And see it this way: First it'll be a pup, but in a few months it'll be a little Blood Claw, crawling about, crashing all fortifications and taking apart all that comes in its way.

(I work with Blood Claws, age 1 to 6, each and every day... they really are quite the force, if not held in check by the more experienced ones)

@SEMPER:

....shouldn't there be a special ETL-badge for mothers who, despite giving birth, heard the call to war and manage to both care for battle-brothers AND their offspring?

Due to a big load of work for school and work itself I won't have much time to prepare just yet.

Luckily many models are already waiting for ETL.

And the workstuff should all be over on the 9th of May (with something small I'll have to write afterwards until the 11th).

So then I'll have a full week to prepare my workspace and a few more models. ...and the 16th is a day off for all germans.

...guess who gets his Imperial Knight Warden kit later today? drool.gif

As the hearth fire roars at the edge of light sits a loner, a stray, Jarl Harald announces to his pack "Listen up, thats Moric I decided to give him a chance to redeem his honour and run with our pack, now that the hunt begins in 15th of may he'll get what he wants, maybe even more, just dont kill him until the battle begins" the hearty laughter roared as the deathwolves "accepted" a new pup among them.

As you guessed I am Moric and I plan to build a deathwolves force, I have been an army hopper and hopefully after this I might find my place in the rout. I'll stand with some baby vows with the wolves

Does anyone have a clue as to where i might find deathwolf transfers?

Logan Grimnar steps into the Deathwolves circle and eyes up the new wolf.

"You have the look of Lokyar about you.. Hopefully we can remedy that. If Jarl Harald vouches for you then that is good enough for the Rout!!"

A great cheer went up

"Welcome Laddie"

Logan leaned forward, he and Moric grasped forearms as a sign of acceptance and Grimnar whispered in Moric's ear

"You have come at a a momentous time, drink  fast for our time of feasting is almost up. Prepare your weapons and be ready the challenges will soon begin"

And with that Logan melted back into the throng  of Wolves.

Congratulations! woot.gif

Yeah that's my fear/suspicion haha oh well. My fellow space wolf friend did order me a space wolf onesie though! So I'll still be reping for the wolves after July just more from afar.

Hi !

As I've mentioned in my "new member" topic, I've been lurking here for a while.

I've been to late to participate last year, and so have been holding my breath till this year's ETL (And so am so blue I could be taken for an ultramarine, what a shame !).

So here I am Brothers and Sister(s ?), ready to take my part of the burden, for the glory of the Rout and the Allfater.

And, as expected, I'll be taking vow(s) for the space wolves.

I have plenty of thunderwolves that I'm magnetising, around 15, including a wolflord and a wolfguard battle leader. But if I'm not wrong, that's not the point of that thread.

Looking forward to see you in the Aett.

Gnenthaal.

Dantay make sure you add Gnenthaal to the list. By my count that takes us to 46 and more members supporting the Wolves this year than we had vows last year!!!

We've got a fortnight to cast the nets wide and recruit more to the cause. This is going to be epic. :p

Please keep in mind the recent cautionary notes about excessive zeal in the recruiting process

So campaign phrases like "I'm having a baby, what's your excuse?" "Make the Aett great again!" are out?

EDIT: Can someone with more talent than I, please photoshop a wolf with Trump's hair please....reasons....

It's wolf related so should be perfectly within forum rules msn-wink.gif .

On a different note, best of luck with the little one. How ever if your worried about hobby time, it will actually be easier when they are small due to the feed-poop-sleep cycle. Wait till they start following you around.

I'm in the planning of a wolf project that may or may not be an ETL vow. I bought SW boarding shields from Shapeways but I haven't decided what unit to put them on. I was thinking grey hunters as ship to ship boarders, Blood Claws or sky claws as your typical sword and board melee combatants, or a blend of both types and make them Wolf guard. I'd like to hear other people's opinions.

Aha, I thought of a question! Just got my FW combi weapon order in. Say I pledge (x) WG with combis, do i need to get granular with the weapons in the pledge since its tallied on vow or can I decide loadout as I go? Is it a mitigating factor that the combis are the same pt. value?
