Finally made some headway on my DKoK kill team... pretty much just need to finish the plasmagun and all of the bases. At a real loss for how to base these guys... any suggestions?

death korps of krieg WIP

Looking good.

I would personally base these guys with ordinary sand - its what I have done with my desert themed guard, and it looks great without any further work (so, no additional painting needed).  I'll post a picture this weekend for your reference.

Played my first game using IG. I was teamed up with Genestealer Cult versus a tough Salamander list. We did nearly get tabled but it was still a fun game.

My medusa, basilisk and hellhound all did solid work but Salamander shooting is brutal and cleaned the table of every Genestealer by the end of turn 2, then he focused on my tanks with super rerolling melta everywhere.

I did forget to use orders all game and forgot Marshall Venner's multi damage rule, I definitely need more bodies...

Chaplain Gunzhard, wow your Death Korps look fantastic!

Glad you enjoyed your game, even if you were allied with filthy xenos worshippers!!

I've found with my army (Krieg and Ultramarine Primaris) that I either win big or lose big.

Don't know if that's just me.

I think I need more artillery (can never have too many big guns)

I've been working on some more Engineers to take my squad up to 10.

I'm going to paint up the rest of my Ultramarines contingent then I'll be adding more Deathriders and Quadlaunchers.

*Yesterday, my IG faced off against a combined Ryza/Salamanders force in an Open War game. We drew the Deployment that basically gives each player half the table, and there were three objectives to capture. My conservative, defensive deployment was in contrast to my opponent's rather more aggressive deployment. I was almost guaranteed to be going last given that I was running a Brigade with 22 drops, haha.

In the end I had worn my opponent down to basically nothing, while having enough of my forces left to start overwhelming them. I'm finding this list does endurance and wearing down the opposition very effectively, but I struggle with getting rid of priority targets right now when I need to. Might swap in a Lascannon HWS in exchange for some units.

Bullgryns with the Astropath for Shield were very good. Heavy Weapons were consistent. Manticore and Colossus were mostly lacklustre aside from a solid shot where the Colossus took 7 Wounds off the Redemptor Dreadnought and finished it off. Sadly it was next to my men and went nuclear, but oh well.

I'd went second and my opponent had two objectives to my one from the off, and it was scoring per-turn per-objective, so they were getting two for my every one point. The Vulture rapidly dealt with his Skitarii holding the backfield objective and the Redemptor was pulled away from the center one, but I simply didn't have enough points at the end. C'est la vie, should have played more aggressively.

(Not pictured in my opponent's deployment are a buttload of Reivers that dropped in all over the place. They didn't really achieve anything and weren't all that hard to put down. There was also an Inceptor squad with those uber Plasma Pistol that dropped in, killed a Bullgryn, then were wiped out by a mighty Smite from the Primaris Psyker.)

Last weekend, the DKoK 12th Death Rider Platoon, 38th Company, 282nd Regiment, under commander of Officer #148294, took the field of battle against the forces of the Death Guard, World Eaters, and clearly heretical figures in imitation an imperial saint and her geneforged mutant escorts (Celestine and custodes.) Through devotion, faith, and skill at arms, they emerged victorious in all theaters, completely slaying all heretical astartes that meet them in combat and dealing sufficient casualties to see the imitators off.

Sounds like an great match libs! Get any pics? :biggrin.:

Sorry, I was enjoying myself too much and forgot to take enough to warrant a battle report. I will, however, share this photo of game two, where we fought the vile World Eaters commanded by my good friend. He was playing a death star of zerkers and support charaters in a spartan and I was quite flummoxed regarding how I would beat him. He out gunned and out melee'd me with that beast. I talked to him about it before the game and he told me about how another friend of his managed to surround the spartan in another game and that I probably needed to try for something like that. Well, here's turn 3:

We both laughed so hard that I was able to do that. His cultists tried to come to the great machine's rescue, but bounched right off the riders. The only objective that mattered was firmly on my side of the board and I just needed to keep him from getting there. Coincidentally, I managed to table him on the last turn by killing the spartan, barely and with multiple smites and fresh charges, causing the guys inside, who couldn't disembark, to die.

Had 2 games yesterday with the 32nd firedrakes/ 66th waterwierds. They performed extremely well. One concede after turn 5 with 2 models remaining and one table at turn 5.

Can you elaborate on what issues youre having?
Are you using a phone or computer?

I spent the weekend at a 90+ player tournament in Oklahoma (after nice :ermm: 6hr drive there...)

I ended up going 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses with a list I didn't expect to get more than 2 wins with :whistling:

Batreps and pics to follow :D

On the computer. When i try to copy and paste them in. It just adds a space. I have tried putting them on a word document and resaving them in a different file. But no change. Is there an "insert picture" button when posting? I have looked and cannot see one. I have but pictures up before by just copy and pasting them, so have no idea why this is not working.

Got my codex, cards, basilisk and sentinel yesterday! :D

Had an open war game against a fellow guard player too. Ended up being kill points.

It was great fun! Double shooting LRs is awesome.

The Cadian orders are rough! Especially with Pask!

Highlights

My last CP kept coming back on a 5+ easily 4 times

The relic power sword ended up taking out the last 3 wounds off a chimera with a single hit. Definitely worth the extra CP at the beginning of the game.

Stratagems are great too! This will be a good edition for the Guard. :D

I gave it a quick flick through Saturday and things look promising indeed. Shame Battle Scribe hasn't updated yet :P Now I'm given the choice of regiment I've narrowed it down to two (Cadian or Steel Legion) but I'm not sure which suits the 144th best. Maybe I'll need to let the dice gods decide

Had a 3000pt game against the local store manager last night. He ended up conceding midway through the first half of turn two, suffice to say that the game didn't go well for him. He was running a very elite, mixed Imperium force that he deployed way too far forward. I managed to win first turn on the roll-off, outflanked behind him, and from there it was a very one-sided massacre.

Well done Coffee, though by deploying a heavily elite army against the mass numbers of the Guard was always going to be a tough battle for him ;) Great to see so many Bullgryns barrelling up the field I really need to get mine done...

Played 1471 of guard vs 1642 of nids. I made a 1500 point list and he brought all he had. I used codex points and doctrine. Didn't use any stratagems other than reroll. Went the distance knocking each other around. Just too many guns. It did have a very desperate feeling for a couple turns when he steamrolled a fair few units.

I performed my first tabling on the weekend. 1000 pts vs Ynnari. He was soul bursting and it was awful, I made some dumb decisions like charging my manticore with 3hp, which was then killed in overwatch, which then set off a soul burst and allowed his jetbikes to wipe out a whole squad of veterans.

We were playing a match where we'd get 3 victory points if we held the enemies objective by the end of the game, but come turn 3 end he only had 3 wraithguard left, camped on my objective, which were promply surrounded and wiped out in some pretty cinematic looking interlocking fields of fire.  Due to the game type, my Tallarn stratagem won me the game.  Ambushing with 3 bullgryns, a squad of heavy flamer/shotgun vets and a demolisher caused him to split his army very early, and he never really regained the initiative. Im sure things may have gone differently had he brought more anti tank weaponry.  As it was he brought a lot of small squads of troops, probably thinking he'd flood me with obsec, but my big guns took them apart.
