You know this is the second time I think someone has used the Corvus Blackstar as a non-Deathwatch unit. I think I like it a lot as seen in this thread as a stand in for a Stormraven. How are you finding it though for shooting angels and load out?

The Blackstars are pushing me away from a SRaven. The bikes are clean with great decal work and the Techmarine is amazing. What a finish :tu:

@Prot I've seen it used in someone's emperor's children army in the WIP section. I'm sorry to say but I don't game, so the tactical advantage of a blackstar over a stormraven is lost on me and even if i was I'd still proxy them as stormravens because of the codex. I am however confident that if  thrown at some angels, it would a.) not flly and b.) cause a lot of damage to an opponents blood or dark angels and any scenery nearby, I do not however suggest this as a good idea.

Looks like a lot of brothers have bowed out and unfortunately I am no different, I've managed to get the decals on 2 of my vows, but the LR still only has its basecoat. I'm hoping to get the lot finished by the end of November so I can move onto some more ultras.

Congrats to all those that completed their vows! I must admit I am not one of them, and still only have the 6 marines of the planned 15 completed for my second vow. I'll just have to make up for it by attempting to finish my 2000 point army before the year is up!

I'd say a congratulations to all who took part, whether finished or not, because we're all followers of the big guys in blue and we're a team. I want to try to say something about wet noodle willpower, as that was in the event introductory post, but I can't think of something good, so thumbs up to you lot.

As for the wet noodle willpower, I found that making a vow greatly motivated me. (truth being told, I pride myself to make sure that when I make a promise, even to myself or for unsignificant things such as painting little plastic dudesmen, I fulfill it. Ultramarine at heart )

You should have seen me at 3 in the morning, playing with Micro Sol and Micro Set, cursing the chaos gods everytime I moved a decal out of place, to make sure the final adjustments were ready for the deadline

Congrats to all that could finish their vows, and cheers to all whose life did not permit to complete theirs (although you will be retrogaded to the rank of scouts ). I think that when you'll finish your project, even if the deadline if over, you should share it here too

I'm wanting to carry on ultramarines but I'm stuck on whether I start a new painting thread in this subforum or my somewhat abandoned thread in the WIP section that has already had maybe 4 different legion/chapters? I do feel somewhat more comfortable in these subforums though.

Sorry folks, it's a bit tough finding the time to juggle my various commitments. :sweat: I'll do my best to post something up later on this afternoon and I hope to have some signature banners for the Frater who have completed their vows by Sunday evening.

So, after updating the table on the first page, I can officially declare that six out of twenty-two participants have successfully completed their vows before the end of the event (roughly 27%). The Frater are:

All have earned the rank of Initiate and will receive one Marksman's Honour per completed vow. In addition to this, obsidian quacker shall receive the Company Champion specialist rank for completing the most models in this event.

Not all glory belongs to those who succeed. :tu:

Nifty (and potentially personalised) signature banners shall be done by the end of the upcoming weekend if all goes well. I'll post them here in this thread for you to then use in your signatures. I'll also look at setting up a "Roll of Honour"-type thread to keep a track of who's completed what when.

Last but not least, another thank you to all (especially Toxichobbit who helped me out with a couple of things) for participating. I look forward to the next event. :tu:

Woooo! Thanks for the banners! Problem solved! Had a thought that maybe I should look in the gallery get the image url from there directly and try again, it worked! Then again I may have been doing it wrong in the first place.
