UPDATE TIME.

Despite everything real life has been putting in my path I was able to steal some time today and make some progress on my scouts.

I have the fabrics all done, just need to do the armour, lenses, and finish the metallics. Then I just have 5 tactical marines to paint to get my 1500pts that I need todo for this comp finished. (Other units may be added later)

Aug- tried a new recipe on the tarts- black primer/white overcoat and then brushed on Vallejo Model air colors as the temps are in the 30's here.

Deffo didn't cover the same but I was in a stubborn mood and barreled through with them no matter what

What I did last night... didn't include the sarge in this round of pics

Going to work up their bases tonight... don't know when the bases will be painted as it's supposed to stay cold into next week:(

Urgh ... I've not even managed to get anything built of late never mind painting anything. The first 5 DW Vets just need some heads, backpacks and bases painting up to be done.

RL is throwing me a few curveballs and my back is still playing up.

There's half the month left so my aim is to just finish the 5 Vets.

Bringing it on Uveron!!

I built 8 40mm bases last night and Thank the maker we had 55 degrees and no rain this afternoon- primed based and a few dudes. Will bring them in from the shed later and begin applying paint and dudes to the bases and maybe hit dudes with paint if I can.

Realize we are getting close time wise and I need to get on my laptop and look up my original 1850 vow and see where I am painting wise. I've made huge strides in my modeling and painting with this Tale and am grateful for the chance to share and grow in such a tight knit band of brothers inside out B&C community.

I will try and get a picture of everything I've painted thus far up as well ASAP.

I'm headed to Nashville with the family this weekend to see a friend perform and then have spring break the following week with the boys so I know I have 13 days of no hobbying coming up super quick.

I'm going to try and knock my lightning out as well and will need to adjust points as I sold the fire raptor and dreadclaw I had originally vowed.

Such is life, changes and going with the flow:)

March vow complete.

I finished the last five of the devastators in my vow. More pics, of all angles, here in my WiP log. Incidentally, except for the comms specialist, none of these guys are named! If anyone would want to give a name to the vexilla, the two weapon specialists, or to the battle brother, please let me know in a comment here or in my WiP log!

Here's pictures of the other three combat squads:

So with that, I declare my MARCH VOW COMPLETE!

In March, I also finally finished the Typhon I  had been procrastinating on for three months in a row.

@ Uveron: with those dreads, I bet you're going to need your Chaos fix durign the ETL, no? JOIN US!!!

@ Brother SP: You're letting no-one down, buddy. RL takes precedence, so no worries. You've been with us since the start of the event (which is more than we can say about 70% of this event's participants), so big ups for staying with us. Be proud of your achievements. And you still have a April!

Woot woot!! Looking right fine frater!!

Uveron- love the 'coke nail' on your dread;)... seriously though, that is a clean and smooth paint job!

Auggy- damn it's amazing how fast you can convert and paint up such beautiful models!! Congrats on your win today- ~~~reading from the emperors tarot deck shows a yellow Fist smashing aside all opponents;)

BroSP- all is well brother. Take your time and do it right. We shall see this through, we've got your back :)

I am out of town right now and was up til 2:30 last night finishing up the bases on my assembled dudes-final agrax wash to bring colors all together, wet base and lower legs with satin varnish and then hit them with 3 weathering powders ... need an hour with decals to get caught up on everything I've painted thus far:

Primed dudes to get 15 blood angel assault troops ready for the airbrush and have another 5 Fists tactical troops ready.

Realized as I got all of my completed guys out for powders that I have a flamer tac support squad, a combiplas/plas vet squad, a few apothecaries,8 assorted converted dudes and 3 straight bolter dudes... I don't like painting regular tactical marines

@ Uveron: with those dreads, I bet you're going to need your Chaos fix durign the ETL, no? JOIN US!!!

Thanks Man, Maybe on the ETL, I dont know... I need to sit down and work out what I want to paint. I have a pile of BA stuff left (But not working on a list as such, due to 8th edd). I have a pile of AOS stuff I also want to work on.

Uveron- love the 'coke nail' on your dread;)... seriously though, that is a clean and smooth paint job!

Thanks! I built all the furiosa claws like that. I knida think of them as a Thumb.

... So... quiet in here...

Uh, here is my predator before pic:

And here is where I am up to now. Commander is very WIP. But I have a question, Should I also edge highlight the black on the tank? Or should I leave it as is? I still plan to weather it but thought I would ask opinions of my esteemed brothers first.

Jeez gents... Ive realized a massive hobby lack of enthusiasm and time these last few days... this was on page 3 of the B&C and needs to come back up front;)

My plans for the eve are to go ahead and begin working on getting the rest of my current dudes decaled and weathered so I feel like I can move forward from here.

We went to Nashville last weekend and I got to play the steel trashcan during a jam session with some bonafide Nashville country musicians and a country music star....generally not my scene musically but these folks were crazy talented and had great voices (til about 2:30am where the whiskey hour kicks in;).

Heading to FLorida/ South Carolina and North Carolina Sunday for 9 days for the boys spring break so will be mid april before I am back here.

PLanning on having the dread drop pod, 2 thudd guns and assembled and the lightning painted before we leave.

Will post pics this eve of my progress!!

Lets see that predator Brother SP

Hey gents. Sorry about dropping get off of the face of the earth there. Things were... crazy to say the least. Good to see you guys are making some very impressive progress. While it's safe to say I busted the one month bye, I'll just sit on the sideline and cheer you guys on. Keep up the stellar work!

Note the photo makes the grey look brighter then what it actually is. So, edge highlight the black as well or no? Also, I have nearly finished the last of the Five man Squad so I hope to at least get one bit of this months vow complete.
