When do the Scions lose their Gloriana? And my personal opinion would be that the best replacement flagship would be either an Emperor Class or Apocalypse Class. The Emperor Class has better command and control systems, and it's role as a carrier would be greatly benefitial to typical Astarte orbital actions. The Apocalypse, by contrast, is armed with lances and a nova cannon, fairly dedicated in its role as a ship-of-the-line killer, which could be an adequete replacement for a Gloriana's firepower

The other option would be a Retribution/Victory class. The Retribution is a dedicated brawler and linebreaker, armed with massive broadside ordinance, as well as being heavily armoured and able to match a cruiser for speed. It also boasts a modest hangar for attack craft. The Victory lacks the hangar space, however instead it has more lances and mounts a Nova cannon. Both variants also mount torpedo tubes.

The Retribution/Victory class I feel would be more suitable for a Primarch/Legion whose commanders value being right in the thick of the fighting as opposed to adopting a secondary role in the actual battle (and therefore allowing themselves greater tactical control)

Something to consider...if I remember correctly the Emperor and Apocalypse class battleships were relatively new during the end of the golden crusade and while Glorianas were by no means common you were much more likely to see a one of these versions:

Dictates

Dominus

Goliath

Imperator

Infernus

Ironclad

Mortis Rex

Retribution

Tiamat

Ascension

Torrent

And the Victory class

MINOR CORRECTION

The Apocalypse class battleship was first used in M30.00  so it would have seen service during the golden crusade though from what I read maybe not in major numbers due to the rarity of the archeotech used in it's construction.

The Emperor Class was first discovered as part of a massive space hulk that was theorized to be well over 10,000 years old according to the Wiki...The Wiki also says the Emperor is the oldest class of battleship still in use in the 40th millennia, but makes no mention of it's use during the Golden Crusade Era.

Gah! True...Dictatus it is then. The lack of info about the ship class is likely to play into our favor since it lets us be a bit more liberal in how customized the ship is since theres no real basis for comparison outside of size class.

I mean, if you go that route, Mik, Delphin exists and is a thing :p

Thought about the The Cymolopian due to the reference being the goddess of Giant Storm Waves; that or we could go with The Nereian to reference Nereus aka the Old Man Of The Sea.

While we are surprised that Azus has an artifical hand/ arm I realized that there is alot I can't remember. Therefore we should type down 50 facts about our legions. And gather.them in our starting thread.
