Can 30K and 40k admech armies mix?

Given the currently limited options for 40k admec, I was interested in maybe having some vultarax air support, but reading the Taghmata book, I can't tell if I'm even able to mix a 30K army with a 40k army. To be specific, I know technically they are separate factions, but could I say, take a 30K allied force with my 40k army? could I take 40k mechanicum allies to a 30k army? Or is that completely against RAW...

Fires of Cyraxis from forgeworld will be introducing the 30k line of models into 40k, atm i believe its slated to arrive sometime after Inferno (though no one has any idea of when yet).

Technically, no.  30k is a subset of the 40k rules but they are different games.  But if your opponent is cool with it, go for it.  It's not too unbalanced from what I've seen (never seen it in person but Winters SEO on youtube posts batreps often and he fields his 30k Mechanicum against 40k armies all the time).

At the moment, you can only play entire 30k armies against 40k, no mixing and matching. Besides that, 30k has a different ally chart, and therefore is incompatible with the 40k factions. Just wait for the book...

You can proxy some models for others, such as Castellax for Kastelans or vice versa... I plan on saving a few bucks by making my tech thralls from skitarii vanguards. Also Belasarius Cawl is going to be an excellent Archmagos.
