Petitioner's City
I thought John French did the Wulfen very well Warzone Fenris was almost laughable in comparison Yes a great deal of tragedy and pain in the Wulfen narrative, the most effective continuation of Prospero Burns' cold ice-burnt & terrifying warriors. It was childish, wowish (world of warcraftish) and absolutely illogical. Instead of truly good wolves images from Wraight or Abnett we got that ... I mean French's Wulfen were 'the most effective continuation of Prospero Burns' cold ice-burnt & terrifying warriors.' Scenes like the difficult relationship the jarl had with the rune priest, the scenes of judgement sitting around ashy fires in the hold, the monstrosity at the heart of the legion - and their entirely utilitarian approach that justifies the end, including cutting the thread of the Cadian Gate marines. That was the VI Legion's most brutal edge, the same brutal edge seen in Abnett's text. I tried reading the Wulfen novel from last year. Let us say, i did not get far, nor did I enjoy it. Prot
The collection looks handsome. They've done a great job repacking it. I really hear so many good things about this series from you guys but I lately have to restrict my reading time to Horus. I am very tempted to get this. Plaguecaster
So are they going to release a normal paper back version like an omnibus form??? as I may be an impulse buyer who has spends way to much on GW in general but when it comes to books im a more cautious spender especially since I read so fast Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/330250-ahriman-trilogy-limited-edition-hardbacks/page/2/#findComment-4640987 Share on other sites
Kelborn
Yes, they are planning it and as I mentioned it previously, it was already announced in a former "Upcoming releases" blog from Blacklibrary. Can't remember which one it was, but I do remember me rejoicing about this news. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/330250-ahriman-trilogy-limited-edition-hardbacks/page/2/#findComment-4641057 Share on other sites
Prot
That's good to hear. I'll be sure to pick it up. I saw some new Thousand Sons short stories come out. I wonder if they will include these? Same - Wulfen shorts were the worst kind of bolter porn and totally ruined any credential I had for SW. But Chris Wraight with his SW HH stuff get me back :) 'That was the VI Legion's most brutal edge, the same brutal edge seen in Abnett's text.' - true. Maybe I don't like PB - but it was a good novel in general Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/330250-ahriman-trilogy-limited-edition-hardbacks/page/2/#findComment-4647394 Share on other sites
