They're some good looking Hellblasters! To carry on the silver theme here's some of my own Primaris! They're far from perfect but they're a bit bloodied.. There's probably some more work I could do on them but honestly I'd really like to move on now! Hope the blood doesn't look OTT... Ignore the modelling mistakes they were made when drunk so these were just used as test minis!

Some amazing models here. I've been trying to choose which chapter to go with;

Flesh Tearers, definitely Flesh Tearers. :biggrin.:

+1 ! You ace their paint scheme, woud be a shame that you don't show us a whole army of them now !

@Aramis : the paintwork is really clean and nice but I think they need smth to really work as a unit. Battle damage and weathering could do the trick maybe, as if they all come from the same fight.

This thread is filled with stunning work. It's delightful to what everyone's doing with the new Primaris stuff  - painting, conversions, lore.

This is my own spin, explaining the FW/30K Iron Hands scheme (assuming I can remember how flickr works). Previously believed to have become exctinct during the fires of the Horus Heresy, Clan Atraxii returns.

I thought it odd that Dark Imperium was missing one of the space marines' most ionic weapon pairings, and felt that this needed rectifying. The hand swap was also fairly useful for a later conversion...

With this happy looking chap I wanted to make it look like the flesh around the augmetic eye was still red and raw after very recent surgery

I didn't like the captain model, it just didn't seem 'right'. And me being me, the model lasted all of 5 minutes before it was assaulted by a hacksaw and an random assortment of 'techmarine-y gubbins'... :teehee:

Yeah, the Captain model from the DI set really does benefit from conversion. I removed the bling from mine to fit the camouflage scheme but I really don't like the cloak. Ah well. Some truly stunning work in this thread. I really like those Iron Hands, and that Imperial Fist captain and the Thousand Son... oh wow!

I agree with you on the cloak - I think the Death Guard cloaks are much better as they're not as thick/solid. I think the biggest concern I have with the captain is his pose. I understand that he's meant to have the whole chest out, shoulders back, 'heroically leading a charge' thing going on, but it all looks a little exaggerated and the stomach area doesn't quite work. In my mind he looks like he has a bit of a beer-belly going on - which is a shame, because I seriously love the segmented armour design. The dangly reliquary is also in a bit of an unfortunate place

Those Iron Hands are astounding.

Those Iron Hands are very impressive. I love the weathering, the attitude, and the anger in them.

Outstanding work Brother!

Thank you very much guys! :happy.:

I'm glad that the attitude comes across, I really wanted them to look intimidating. Almost cocky knowing that they dominate the battlefield. Yes, they may be relatively new/young, but they're (my interpretation of) Iron Hands first and foremost; they will walk methodically through your fire without caring, they will force their way through your defences and yes they will orchestrate your complete and total destruction. They take care of their wargear, but that doesn't mean it has to have a pristine or parade-ground finish. The final chapters of Wrath of Iron were very inspirational :laugh.:

These kits are so versatile, they really are a blank slate for people do do whatever they want with them. I keep re-reading this thread, and it's an absolute joy to do so.

I cannot wait to get the apothecary onto my workbench

Finished my test model for a Salamanders scheme I've been working on. It needs more practice but I'm happy that it's a decent enough start.

Apologies that the 2nd image is slightly out of focus. I obviously need to practice my photography skills as well......

Thanks guys. Not quite... but the Greyjoys were a little of the inspiration, along with the Sons of Horus reaver squads (the colour scheme has evolved since then though). I'm working on developing a proper chapter lore, but essentially the Corsairs are a void warfare/boarding action specialist chapter.

I painted these Easy to Build Intercessors as Iron Hands as a break from a larger project:

The first one was an experiment in using Nuln Oil Gloss, while for the other two I used regular Nuln Oil.

Thanks mate, I have indeed got a name, my dudes are the Corsairs, though I do like 'Iron Reavers'.

Anyway, here's the next primaris. I probably won't post any more in this thread, but I have a painting diary in the WIP section that I'll try and keep updated :)
