All done! It was quite the headache, the banner never came out right and the quick glazing of the blade became a 'multiple day blending fest' that I would rather not do again. But now I have a bannerbearer at the very least! Next up is the contents of the Indomitus box and a Fire Raptor! Need to shrink my pile of shame a bit before I can buy Azrael and the Lion.

Converted and painted up a Castellan during my eternal distractions. Not happy with the face at all, threw it in the bin a couple of times before fishing it out again. But it's all I got, so I finished it up anyway.

Solid conversion-it works well for a Deathwing Knight or even chaplain. If the latter you could replace the head with a skull faced helmed reviver.

It's been a while! The combination of vacation, a new job and a painting competition where I'm painting everything other than my marines has made me slack a bit on this thread. Luckily I've entered a Slow-grow campaign at my local store, so I've sqeezed some marines into my schedule.

I've entered with my Consecrators, so I had a reason to take them out of their glass coffin after all these years. They got tabled in the first 750pts match, but absolutely dominated in the following 1000pts match. My scouts demolished a Farseer first turn (best points ever spend), while my Heavy Intercessors, dreadnought and Land Raider mowed down a Fire Prism and entire squad of bikes. Here's what's left of the opponent army after turn 2, minus one squad and tank of screen.

 

 

Since I added the Land Raider after my first match, I had to update it a bit. I didn't like how it turned out the first time around, and while I'm still not completely satisfied, it looks a lot better now. For reference, this is what it looked like before:

And here's the whole force for my 1000 Points match. I'll probably switch the dread for a Ballistus, since he explodes quite early every time (and he isn't quite legal anyway), while adding a Librarian, Apothecary and more Hellblasters for the next match. I started pimping the existing force as well, those blank shoulders deserve their Chapterbadge after having finally gone through the meatgrinder. Never been excited to paint more in a long time! Since the scouts were absolutely amazing, I'll be waiting impatiently to buy the gorgeous new sculpts!

I wish I could mate, but the collar is massive which makes every head/helmet look tiny in comparison. He'll do for now.

Loving the checkerboard pattern on the raider.  Also, does the crewman have a powerfist on?  Must for clearing jams on all the brrrtttt guns and hot barrel changes

Finished up a Ballistus for my growing list. I've enjoyed painting the Dakkadread so much, I went a litle overboard with the checkers. I regret shading the nametags though, all my time freehanding those damn tiny letters was for naught. Coming up: another Land Raider!

Thanks for the kind words Brothers! I've got more stuff coming up, but Darktide is eating up alot of my spare time at the moment  I've really got to start on my second landraider for my league...

Still alive lads! After my relapse into videogames (damn you Darktide) had cooled a bit, we managed to adopt a new pupper! As cute as the little demon is, he's quite a handfull and he keeps me from hobbying in my usual space.




Alongside some other personal projects, I've made progress on the Landraider though. The Campaign has ground to a halt due to some issue with the organisation, so no need to rush.

Still crawling through my huge backlog. Managed to resist buying the new Deathwing box, since I have too many terminators already to buy another box I'll never get to paint.

I've played another game in out local Escalation League, and I got completely creamed! My army of infantry faired pretty badly against a list of Chaos HQ's and tanks/dreadnoughts. Everything was in melee combat by turn 3, which my lads aren't great in at all. The only highlight of the match was when my upcoming Landraider one shotted his Lord Discordant in turn one, one of only two kills in the whole game  At least I know he'll be of some use when I finally get to finish him up.

 

 

In anticipation of the game, I finished up my Suppressors, Agressors and some Eradicators, so that the tank would be the only unfinished model on the board. They all missed their shouldermarkings and Companymarkings, which has been rectified! Since we now know the Gravis-lads won't be the new terminators, I could finally give 'em the heavy support markers.

 

 

They struggled without a suitable HQ's attached though, so I've started work on some new commanders while my paint on the tank is drying.

 

 

And lastly I started on my new rendition of Azrael! With the exception of his gun, I liked the model alot! I've cut the silly plate of the guns magazine to tone the profile down a bit and moved the trigger up a bit, so I wouldn't look like a comically sized combi-pistol and more like his OG Bullpup. It was fiddly work, but I like how it turned out. I hope it will still look good with some paint on it.

Finished up the Land Raider! Probably wasted too much time on it with all those damn details, but I'm happy with how he turned out!

While I'm in vehicle-mode, I started work on a project I've been dreading for a while now. Let's see how this one goes!
