Hi all I've recently gotten back into the hobby, having stopped around the end of 2015 due to health reasons. I started again with a true scale Fallen Angel, but never went anywhere with that fella. Fast forward to last week, I finally took the plunge and made a start on my pre-heresy XIIIth Legion. I must admit that my painting skills aren't flash, but they seem to look good at tabletop height.

I'm trying to include an image with this first post, however I'm not very tech savvy despite being a bairn at 23.

I feel like I have a song for you :p

I hope this has worked! I went for a darker blue than the usual, with a golden bronze trim, I've since based this chap and six of his mates, and should be cranking out a legion tactical squad per week. I've chosen to leave any characters and/or bigger models until I've gotten through the rank and file.

@helterskelter thank you for the advice!

Welcome to the forums, Eclairs. If you're having trouble, can you tell us what you've tried so far?

Thank you for the welcome! I should've said it was my first time here! Now I've got. The hang of posting images, there's no stopping me haha

Fair enough, brother! Glad to have you on board. :tu:

Looks like a good start, looking forward to the next update!

What sort of basing are you thinking about doing?

Thank you for the complement bud! I have three more MkIII guys to paint up and then I'll be doing something bigger, Cataphractii terminators possibly!

As for basing, an urban grey, with patches of snow (in my background fluff for this particular group of fellas, they're helping with the quashing of a Word Bearer-lead Warp Cult insurgency, city fighting and such, and when I get some imperial militia done, they're hopefully going to be in an urban camo).

Legit paintjob on taht Ultramarine. I reckon your gold-bronze trim works rather nicely as compared to the more overtly golden standard approach folk seem to use. Although there's a vague risk that with your blue already starting that dark that inking will head it for Night Lords shade; but eager ot see what you bring out next :D

Thank you for the compliments! I intend to keep them as far away from those Night Lords as possible, the Lords I've painted used a deeper blue with silver trimming, so hopefully they aren't too similar!

As I'm out of pocket right now, I'm painting up some Word Bearers (boo) in MkIV. I'll be posting them here too, as they're responsible for the warp cult uprising on my background fluffs planet
