Oooh, this has a lot of promise. Looking forward to seeing your progress. I always thought the lion's head looked like Charles Dance (the actor who played Tywin Lanester on Game of Thrones). Which by the way is perfect for a grizzled knight.

I'd always thought he looked like what would happen if you put Liam Cunningham's facial hair as Davos Seaworth on Charles Dance's face. I'm really not looking forward to doing the cape. Sculpting fabric is frustrating. I may have to ditch it and do something like get a drink can and cut and shape a cape from that and then put a thin layer of green stuff over that instead.

Test fit of the cape. This phase 1 of doing the cape. Sanded most of the obvious lumps down first and will be building up the folds and blending the joints with the plastic on the underside where needed next.

I have done this! The 50/50 miliput/GS mix is perfect for this. You slap it on there, and usa a wet brush to smooth out all the wrinkles...much easier than sanding afterward, but its an option l, if you dont get everything smooth initially.

The trick to GS Capes is to let it sit for like 45 minutes. Then roll it out, and cut to shape. Should be not very sticky any more, and if youre gentle, you wont put fingerprints in it. Then just attach it and use some sticky tack to keep it in place where you know it will droop....or just find a way to angle the model so that the flow of the cape is going with gravity as it cures. Hope that helps.

This will definitely help for when I pluck up the courage to do a full cape from scratch. Luckily this was just gap filling so the plastic of the existing cape kept the putty in place.

Cape now attached to model, but may still do a bit more sanding down. Added some purity seals for good measure.

And now to ask for some opinions. The first ever iteration of this model had a lion pelt on top of its cape (see below). The model was in Cataphractii Armorur so it didn't have the vents to worry about covering. I'm tempted to alter this and do the same, but it would mean covering the vents which I've always viewed as a no-no for Indomitus. That was until new Grimnar was released who conveniently has his wolf pelt covering his vents! So now I can't decide whether leave him as is or pay tribute to his first iteration and add a lion pelt which would cover the vents. Thoughts?

I suppose there is also the option to explain away with a bit of lore on how his suit is custom built due to being larger than a normal Astartes and is frankensteined from available Indomitus and Cataphractii parts and say it doesn't have vents.
