Paradogmatic
Something that really hits a great proportion / aesthetic combo with the use of those Titanicus bits - one of those kitbash ideas that just comes together and looks super natural. Love the GS work going on here so far; the loincloth is cool but maybe feels a bit to squared out on the bottom with all the other curves going on. Hope his belt buckle gets a cool icon to represent that he's the galactic heavyweight champion ( reminds me of a wrestling belt but definitely in a good way ) Knightsword, Firedrake Cordova and Tallarn Commander 1 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/342619-knightswords-wip-thread-knight-pattern-dreadnought-page-10/page/10/#findComment-6074377 Share on other sites

I can't unsee the wrestling belt now but you are right, it needs something on it, not sure what but something. I also hadn't really noticed the straightness of the tabard until you pointed it out. I may heat up my craft knife and try and roughen the bottom edge up a little. Knightsword
I genuinely don't know what to do about a base for not-Bjorn. Dead Chaos Marines or cultists? I had thought maybe a Helbrute but the bits for those are really hard to come by it seems. Dr_Ruminahui
If you have to choose, I would go with the marine - my own thoughts, the more powerful the model, the more powerful its terrain corpse. Knightsword
A brief distraction from decisions about basing. Tested out my idea for the Hounds of Morkai proxy colour scheme. Firedrake Cordova
Very nice. There will hopefully be some glowing runes added to the vambraces, shin guards and right shoulder pad too when I pluck up the courage to try it. On a tangent, I had some fun with photoshop and the Space Wovles index. Just a reskin of Bjorn's datasheet with some name changes. Painted the Chapter Master a little bit. Does the face in the second photo remind anyone of Kurt Russell? I think it's the jaw line doing it. Tried to do a blue lava effect sword but adding the final black bits messed up. Might try and rescue it or I'll just do the same effect I've done of the Lord on Thunderwolf and Murderfang proxies as an easy fix. Knightsword
Another 3 months between hobby sessions. I'll hopefully have a bit more time going forward now. For now, a potato cam wip of my Jump Pack Chaplain. I saw the AOS Gardus Steel Soul model and thought to myself "why haven't I seen any Jump Pack character superhero landing conversions using him?", so that's what I decided to do. It ended up being a little more complicated than anticpated, mostly because I didn't properly read the eBay page and so Gardus arrived already assembled with loads of excess glue all over, but at the price I paid for him I could hardly complain. He just needs tidying up and a bit more green stuff and then he's good for painting. Knightsword
In true me fashion, I've started another project before finishing the previous ones. This is one I have been planning for a very long time, the Brutalis version of the Knight Dreadnoughts I've previoulsy made using Contemptors. I've had this idea in my head for ages and had planned it out thoroughly, until I saw all the Redemptor conversions by Kitbashpowerhead on Instagram. He was using the torsos of Contemptors and Leviathans and other bits on his projects and after seeing these I rethought my whole plan. The below is almost the end result. There is also a Redemptor sized Bladeguard shield to go on the free arm, some more iconography, and some mold lines to remove that I missed. Firedrake Cordova
Nicely done - I like the movement you've captured with the slight "striding" pose. As an Englishman, it's only proper that my dreads extend their pinkies whilst smiting the foes of the Imperium You are right though, it's one part of the model that I'm not happy with and will probably take apart and try again. The fists really aren't suited to holding things like this. 15 minutes ago, Jhadzaan said: Those are awesome! Idea stolen. I can't wait to see what you do with it.
