Doubtful that your dropped Cadence. CM had decieded that A.T.'s shot only did:

 

 

 

A.T. used a overwatch shot - the Ultra Sniper rifle is 1D10+4 - I will consider that you rolled a 10, plus 3 additional Righteous Fury damage. Pen 2, +5 Perception bonus for a Total Pen 7, with Damage 17. 

Felling (1) will reduce Akkad's TB to 4, Armour 3 will reduce the damage to 10. Toxic will require Akkad to take a Toughness test at -50 (which he will fail?) or take 1D10 toughness damage. 

Akkad will also have to take a -20 Pinning Test as well. 

 

 

So at worst you are looking at being down 19-ish wounds, not enough to put you into the critical damage that would've made you drop the Heavy Bolter, but enough to put you into a world of hurt...

 

As to our locations, Tyber is off to the side of the door, he's not an idiot, Solastion likely tossed and ducked to the side and Varvost is getting ready to go flying in.

I suspect it involves two rounds of full auto heavy bolter fire and the frag cannon going back onto overwatch before anyone can move in...

I know that Jump packs let me charge and ignore objects that would impede my movement so the extra crates are no issue....

I'd argue the steps are relatively steep so it would be hard for Akkad to see Varvost or Solastion.

Based on the information that I know about the boxes, they are three or four meters tall, by 5 meters long by three or four meters wide.. How heavy are they? I've got an idea on an unorthodox usage for one of them....

Basically I'd like to know if I could use one as a make shift shield in my left hand while I storm the breach.... They'd do a great job at eating a bunch of damage on my way in.

If you can find anything longer than 3 meters to hit Thorvald across the face with you'll at least be able to avoid being at point blank range when he fires his frag cannon.

 

He's just used his dodge this turn against Atratus too, so a krak grenade to the face has its appeal before everyone bundles in.

Sadly he gets his refresh before I can act... he's last and I'm first so no Grenade love for me.... but a walking +8 armour from the a container sure looks interesting...

 

Still he is with in charge distance of me thanks to the jump pack...

How are you planning on doing that? Lifting it with one arm underneath? I'm having trouble visualising this and even a crudely drawn MSPaint drawing would help me visualise this better.
