Hey all, I'm back up at the hospital today but do feel free to get some roleplay up. I have spoken to Nineswords and Greysight will be spending a fate point to get a 10 on his initiative roll. Equally, once Vaidan has sent orders, feel free to start posting your proposed actions and I will update tonight in about 12 hours from this post.

Reyner, don't forget to have Vaidan send a message to Tyber!

Done! I'll add in some actions later - I have the Final Sanction PDF so I can figure out shooting using that (currently at work so no rulebook!) Gonna be half actions for ready weapon and standard attack since Vaidan didn't have his bolter in hand when talking to the governor :) or I go full nutjob and ready the flamer and start a BBQ.

Ready Basic Weapon for Marines is a free action Sarge.  The Final Sanction PDF is a bit lacking, but as a guide it's not bad.  get the PDF errata as well - this is going to get messy...!  If you need a steer, we can guide you on.

Further, we may need to strategise here - there are a whole host of options open to us, including and most important, Squad Mode, which I recommend we enter as soon as possible, so hang fire rolling dice Reyner!

Nine, shoot the fop for cowardice! :biggrin.:

I am happy to do most dice rolls if necessary, and feel free to treat this as a practice. From a narrative point Vaidan is still suffering from injuries sustained aboard the Voice of Thunder.

Worth remembering also that Vaidan does have some hellfire mutagenic ammunition that would be effective against Tyranids.

Anyone fancy catching the Governor before he pegs it out of the palace?

Good to hear things went well at the hospital, Mol!

And I am still undecided if Sabaan would leave the squad for going after the Governor...or just capping him, for that matter.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.......!

Since we are an unknown distance from the palace, knowing that our flight packs if able to mimicking the "run" movement profile let us hit around 864m/min (this would be going full thrust), and each combat round is approximately 5 seconds lets us cover 72m/combat round, so I think we are likely a full 2-3 minuets out (approximately 24-36 combat rounds), if they can't do that we are looking at 288m/min or 24m/combat round, in which case we are better off doing running jumps as Tyber would get 60m/combat round, still putting us at 2.5-9 (30-108 rounds) minuets out, depending on our speed .... Unless the Emperor negates space and time some how.

Either way, I think the combat will be over before we arrive, to see what's left, should be interesting!

Hi all, I am partway through the update. Nineswords has sent me half of his rolls and I'm waiting for the rest. With Greysight getting an initiative score of 14, he's actually second (before Sabaan) so I will update once I can!

Nice to see the combat update CM, just remember Gene Stealers have Razor sharp on their rending claws, meaning that if they get two or more DoS on a WS check, they double their penetration from 5 to 10.

As an aside, are you going with the modules version of them (very, very nasty) or the MoX (Mark of Xeons) version (Page 39)? The MoX version is more dodgy and more murder machines, but less damage per swing (1d10+12 vs 2d10+12)...

Hi all,

Can you remind me the obvious thing I've forgotten - how are you half-aiming and doing a SAB in one round? Do you get a free aim? This is another issue of the DW books' illegibility.

Yeah I was wondering that I haven't figured out where the free aim action is haha, the books are pretty difficult with rules all over the place! :biggrin.:

Also looks like we boltgunned these Genestealers pretty good - do we need Tyber and co or should they try force their way into the Astropath Tower? Or is there gonna be another wave...

Mol, think there has been a mix up here - there's no free half-aim action but Slips didn't add the bonus into his calcs, so I think it's an editing error (I was wondering too - I would love  a free half aim!) and he just fired a SAB.  Is that right Slips?

Also, post updated - you've killed Genestealers 1, 2 and 7 and crippled genestealer 4.

DEATH TO THE XENOS!

Dude, don't even get me started on the books - the damn rules are everywhere - one of the most important rules about grenades is in a tiny sidebar in the same section as falling damage or something dumb, whilst the healing rules are just totally contradictory....!

If the Assaultbois do come over, it's fine, we can still drive to the tower in good old 2-12. :)

Good shooting gang!
