Frostbit3
I just finished my 30 cawdor Last Friday after a horrifying painting marathon to get them tournament ready. So many details! I was really disappointed as well at how locked into poses they are. In fairness you aren’t supposed to have 30, but I was glad to have a stash of old pewter redemptionist bits to do head and weapon swaps with. Good looking luck with yours looks like a good start. Ho hum Personally, I'd let you call them BA w/ Angels Sanguine paint, but I suppose GW has dropped the hammer on such things. hermanista
Yup. And with the Blood and Glory and 40k heat 3 being the big events for me between now and Xmas, have to play by their rulings. hermanista
*With a shudder, the dropship emerged back into reality, lurching towards the tech planet at the edge of the system. Within it's belly, the latest reinforcements to the knights stationed upon it* __________________________________________ So a big day for the Knights of Ni... With this emerging from the warp to reinforce the house... So a true support class weapon of war to join the household. It does mean this is my too build list But then that's it, household complete bar the pilgrimage. Just got to build and paint it all. In the mean time, off to warhammer world tomorrow with the knights for a game with a mate since it's larp weekend. Good times :-) Thousand Eyes, brother_b, Vel'Cona and 6 others 9 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345486-hermanistas-knights-mechanicus/page/8/#findComment-5151843 Share on other sites
hermanista
So a bit more work of the Congregation of Cardinal Glick, 23 troops done plus the two commanders. 7 to go. Including this chap, the latest and one of my favourites I think. Hard work trying to create enough unique poses, but I've found some on Pinterest that will continue the variety. And in other news, Mr postie brought this little bundle today... hermanista
So a month gone without Bnc, but it's back. And in the mean time, I did some stuff! The congregation is built and undercoated and persuaded for starters, but that's a bit boring. Paint has been applied to the Triplets though, and that's more interesting at 3.10am when I write this brief piece. Still massively who, but still it's progress! I'm really have with the new shade of red, I just need a bit of time to work on the rest of it now. And start on the rest of the household obviously. Vel'Cona
Excellent progress! I really like that eye-catching "drying blood" look you're going for. Or is it red-rust? Either way, it's a cool finish :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345486-hermanistas-knights-mechanicus/page/8/#findComment-5171889 Share on other sites
hermanista
Why not both? Lol Painting should continue this weekend after getting a pass to do some. In the mean time, for any UK types, I've decided to run a tournament and thus am able to introduce the first North Wales Open 40k To be held in Wrexham, North East Wales on February 2nd and 3rd. If you're local or even if you're not, the event page is here. https://www.facebook.com/events/1166154273559238 More details to follow Stray 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345486-hermanistas-knights-mechanicus/page/8/#findComment-5179724 Share on other sites
hermanista
So I managed a bit of painting today and then there was a disaster! Had used some modelling tape for some neat lines for stripes on the Red Queen Atrapos. Painted in the black, left it to dry and then peeled back the tape... What a bugger Ho hum. Onwards and upwards! Stray
Oh no! :/ Though that said, you could probably turn that mishap into some really natural looking wear and tear. I think that'd look really effective - but I'm something of a sucker for heavily weathered Knights :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345486-hermanistas-knights-mechanicus/page/8/#findComment-5180234 Share on other sites
hermanista
Yeah, that'll be the plan. Its since been recoated in matt varnish to give the paint something to stick to and then we'll just go with sponging and brush work, as well as the decals. I was so happy with the colour fade on the red stripes too. Lesson learned, more varnish on the Lancers when it's their turn. Black Knight
I had the same problems when I tried to use Vallejo Red Primer. No matter what I spray with that it just peels, EVERYtime... Went back to the normal grey and no issues. hermanista
So ticket sales went up last night for the #northwalesopen40k tournament I'm running. Woke up this morning to 16 of 40 tickets gone, which is an awesome feeling. https://www.facebook.com/events/2236410813244906/ is the fb event page for it if you live sort of near Wrexham or fancy travelling. All terrain and gaming tables provided, after I splurged and bought 20 of the FAT mats for use at the event. Next up, laser cutting out 20 boards worth of terrain in work. And if folks want to share the link out, that'll be awesome :-) Vel'Cona, Stray and robofish7591 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345486-hermanistas-knights-mechanicus/page/8/#findComment-5184883 Share on other sites
Clingy
Good luck with the event. I just finished a 3 game local tournament and had a blast. Wales is a bit too far for me sadly but maybe one day. hermanista
I'm hoping I can run it a few times a year, after the setup and prep of terrain this time it'll be much easier in future. 21/40 tickets gone and I'm over the moon :-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345486-hermanistas-knights-mechanicus/page/8/#findComment-5184970 Share on other sites

hermanista
1750 40k tournament on Saturday. Planning on taking an Atrapos and 2 Lancers for :cusss and giggles. hermanista
It'll be different. I hadn't event thought about him really. So list wise SHD Atrapos Lancer Lancer Battalion - Catachan Marbo Commander - Kurovs Aquila 3x10 guardsmen I'm probably going to go house krast, I'll need the rerolls. My last choice then is as so - Warlord on the Atrapos or on a Lancer? I'm more inclined towards a Lancer, purely because the Atrapos is target enough and also hard enough without needing any heirlooms/traits, whilst the Lancer could probably use them more. hermanista
Tournament day Bottled it on taking an Atrapos and her two Lancer escorts. Lancer, Crusader and Styrix instead it is, along with the Blessed 32 at 1750. Normal tournament rule applies - Just win at least 1 game. Photos to come as it goes on Stray, Thousand Eyes and brother_b 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345486-hermanistas-knights-mechanicus/page/8/#findComment-5193242 Share on other sites
hermanista
We'll... That didn't go as planned. Three resounding and crushing losses.... Oops. Won't be playing Vulker again, back to Raven for me I think with this list. Or Krast is I take the Atrapos/Lancers to the GT.
