More Last Chance to buy misery

Well, my order (finally) arrived today and I got all the MK II stuff I ordered so that's something I guess, only issue was a small casting error on a shoulderpad rim.

Not so with the Malcador tank though, Emperor's fuzzy slippers now that kit was a burning carcrash, had to ask for replacements for 2/3ds of the kit - that quality control guy must have been nursing the worlds greatest hangover because I had mould-misalignment in som large parts almost 4mm out of line and running half the part. Never seen something like that before.

o.O

did you get any comms to say it was out for delivery? i put my order in on the 22nd and ive not heard a dickybird

My order of Legion specific torsos is still in transit (ordered the 10th of May, dispatched on the 30th), and the MkII one (ordered the 18th) has not even been dispatched yet :wacko.:. I'm living in Spain so not too worried about the torsos order since it usually takes a bit over a week, but I hope they don't take much longer to send the MkII one.

I don't want to feed trolling or anything, but I am watching a 30k game on Twitch with Anuj and he mentionned the last chance to buy thing. He said "not too worry", they "are not gone forever, they can come back" especially the Legion specific stuff. There, a bit of hope restored?

That would be nice, and the rumours about "made to order" runs have been appearing almost since the first LCTB round, so it sounds plausible. Then again, if they redo the MkII mold for a future run, I might get slightly pissed if the ones I've ordered now are poorly casted due to the mold's age :D.

Edit: grammar is hard.

Bulbafist, hats off to you, I've certainly had a laugh there.

Now, would you guys imagine this as an April's Fools joke from FW? The resulting turmoil would please Tzeentch greatly, and Khorne would revel in the rage of a thousand HH enthusiasts burning down Warhammer World.

I'm not an expert, but I wonder if there is a precendence for 'last chance to buy' inducing panic buying but it actually being a 'sales gimmick', and not actually being removed. I guess the only proof would be a whistleblower tbf though.

I hope this is true.

I was specifically referring to the Primarchs joke, not the whole LCTB situation :D, but I see what you mean. It is a bit what I commented in the next post, while I would be miffed that they pushed me towards excessive spending, I would also be glad to see the products are not completely gone and I may still have the chance to get them.

On the Warhammer Podcast last night Tony Cottrell said anything that has be stopped will have a replacement or can be replaced with something else.

Make of that what you will.

They Will make upgrade kits Just for mk3/4/6

About mk5 they Will make a conversion set for mk3/4

They Will standardise on the plastic kits made by GW

My 2 cents

P.S.: i don't think GW Will ever do more 30K plastic kits

A least with the MkII stuff, It's the nice way of saying "these aren't selling because MkIII is in plastic"

i cant see how they can make a conversion for either mk 3 or 4 for heresy pattern its totally different.

Nope

I was meaning upgrade sets for the appropriate marks according to the legion

DA Will move from mk2 to mk3 and they Will get mk3 torsoes cause the helmets are already perfect and FW is keeping them

And so on

That makes more sense. While all the legions had access to other marks as time went on, there are certain aesthetics and already stated facts that they only used or favored X mark.

Yes but i think mk2 Will disappear and legions Will use Just mk3 or mk4

I have a strange feeling we will see something happen for MKII, it's such an important part of the lore and setting. They still sell resin versions of armor available in plastic kits in the MKIII, MKIV, and MKVI. Much of MKV is available or has been rendered redundant by the newer fluff. If they were just making room, it seems we'd see them go first.

I originally, and finally got into Horus Heresy because of MKII, so maybe it's wishful thinking on my part. If I ever expand my Ashen Claws, it will be frustrating to not have it available anymore. I did purchase a bunch of infantry right before the end there as future proofing, but I just cant see them keeping the only unique line they have, out of the running.

I’m certain that Heresy will have another Plastic box in the future, and I’m sure it’s going to contain mkII. Those are extremely profitable for GW but there are only so many of those that they’re willing to release in any given quarter. There’s still plenty of things they can do before a Heresy box.

Not counting Titanicus, but maybe a 40k era upgrade to titanicus, Battlefleet gothic, another Necromunda box, Imperial auenotica, there are so many other Specialist thing they can do before going back to Heresy, but in time I highly doubt we will not see another great Heresy box containing Legion stuff.

Keep in mind, whatever Legion stuff they release, being that it’s in plastic now, 40k marine players will want it as well, and that’s a large market.

One hopes the next plastics are Despoilers/Assault Marines as we need more close combat arms.

Or FW could release packs of 5/10 Chainswords and Bolt Pistols in various armour marks

My ideal fantasy is that FW releases upgrade sets for the plastics so you can make Despoilers, Assault Marines, Destroyers, Breachers ect ect, while the next boxes set contains simple MkII Tacticals, making them a great base set for some further upgrades.
