Captain Semper's Adeptus Titanicus project

Love the bases Captain - all resin, or toppers? Looking forward to the new Warlord too!

Thx man - It's actually a Reaver, and I'm sticking to Krytos for this one... Configuration and name is still undermined though...

Oh I see that now  I think they look really similar in skeletal form - but another Reaver for the Legio is great! I'll eagerly await seeing what you come up with this time.

ATHEUS VINDICTA

REAVER CLASS TITAN OF LEGIO KRYTOS

Now, I have to be frank, I cheated a bit... I used the power fist that I had already made as a placeholder for Black Arrow (since I'm waiting for the cannon to be released for that guy) and put it on Atheus Vindicta... Also I did the kneepad yellow... Yes, don't know what came over me, but there you go... If anything it should have been red...

I also applied some decals on Black Arrow...

And the obligatory family pic:

Things remaining: The proper base for the Provocator Navus and of course Black Arrow's hand. Oh yes, and Krytos-specific decals when/if they get released...

Other than that, I call the Krytos project done - no more Titans will be painted in their livery. With the current force I can deploy two Maniples: An Axiom - possibly supported by two extra Warhounds, and a Venator Maniple supported by a Warlord. In the case of the Axiom I can choose the load-out for the two Warhounds out of a choice of the four I have build and in the case of the Venator, I have choice between two Reaver load-outs: the Black Arrow and the Atheus Vindicta...

So, time to move on to new challenges... Any ideas?

That's a lovely looking family shot Semper. You should be proud of what you've achieved.

The speed of your painting is always an inspiration? Where do you find the time to paint? I find that with working an 11 hour day, and trying to balance any kind of life outside that, I really don't get a huge amount of time for painting. Maybe I'm just slow though. :p

I suppose like most things in life, it's a conscious decision to make time, by turning off the TV etc. and just sitting down to paint, even if it's just for a few minutes.

With regards to the next project, what inspires you? Are you looking to do a similar project based off a historic Legio, wih named Titans? Take a look through the FW Black Books to see if anything there gets your hobby juices flowing.

Are you feeling burnt out with Titanicus? Go do something completely different and come back feeling fresh, when you're ready.

Maybe painting up some nice terrain to play games on is what you want to do now?

Perhaps there's someone you know and you want to introduce them to the hobby? Why not try some intro games with two hounds and a Reaver each and go from there? If they're into it, maybe painting up a loyalist force is the way to go.

If you want to get creative, model up some Gryphonicus Reavers as the heavy and light versions for when you replace other Titans with Reavers in a Maniple.

Just some suggestions.

Clearly you need to do a loyalist legion.  Though you might want to wait for Titandeath to come out?

Yeah loyalist is a good choice... But not a one way street necessarily. I mean I have developed a taste for Mortis. And for Gryphonicus to be fair... But you are correct, Titandeath may help tip the scales - especially if it is accompanied by the release of more Legio-specific decals.

Dunno... Astorum?

Well, time is always an issue. I have a busy 10-11 hour day at work and sometimes the weekends too. I just need to make sure anything between 30 mins to 2 hours daily goes to the AT. Fact is I don't do anything else hobby wise: I don't play games, don't go to clubs and I visit my local store once in a blue moon and only to buy specific stuff - no socialising or anything... In and out. And that's only when inspiration from the models affect me as AT did. Last time I felt the calling was with the re-release of Blood Bowl, but unfortunately I cannot show my work here... :sad.:

I'm definitely sticking to AT! :woot:

Now I'm not sure which Legio, although your Gryphonicus suggestion sounds interesting...

This is a great set of titans. I think you’ve managed to get a really good colour scheme and executed it very well. The new bases are great too.

Thx man! I'm really happy with them and it has been a real learning process too... The Reavers' legs more than anything. :smile.:

Wonderful, they are all absolutely gorgeous.

Regarding the inside leg plate and ankle armour, you eventually pulled it of nicely. I am checking all my reavers now and I have the same problem. I keep saying dry fit, dry fit, dry fit, and eventually I forgot to dry fit the lateral pistons when I tried the legs armour plates …

Next project? I would say a loyalist legio so you have an opposing force. Since you have developed a taste for Mortis, I would add that Mortis would give you the opportunity for some twisted conversions, I mean they received Nurgle's blessings after all

Now, this can be the next next project :biggrin.:

Thanks for the reply Semper.

I'm sure there is somewhere appropriate online to show off your Blood Bowl miniatures, if you haven't already. I wouldn't mind some inspiration. I'm tempted to power through some Shadespire stuff so as not to burn out on Titans, but to keep up the painting momentum.

Have you got any closer to deciding what the plans are for January's painting comp?

Looks great Captain - seems only appropriate to do a Legio to rival them...

Thx Chaeron! :woot: Maybe Gryphonicus? I think I may want to wait for Titandeath...

thx Mendi! :)

And don’t get me started with the ankle armour. No matter the amount of dry fitting, they just could n fit...

Anyway, I’m still on the fence about the next project. I might take Dallo’s advice and paint something else while I clear my mind, like... KNIGHTS? (AT scale mnd you!) hahaha!

Ermm, the Inner Circle has to do some internal planning - I can safely say it’s gonna happen but I cannot commit on days just yet. Oh, and it’s gonna be fun! ;)
