Sanguinius & Weekender Schedule

I think the new angles actually make the sculpt look worse. I want to like it, and the individual components are beautiful but the whole execution just looks a little.....odd. The neck looks over extended, the sword arm is at an unusual angle, his left hand looks out of proportion and the rock between his legs.....

Often I find pics don’t do such complex models justice, so I want to see him in the flesh (resin) before I pass final judgement!

Book 8 being delayed is a little ridiculous, FW have a single day of the year to promote HH, it’s the perfect opportunity to inject new life into the game (which is sorely needed IMHO). Instead, we get another nail in he coffin of 30k....

I just hope, for the sake of those who have paid the premium ticket and hotel prices, the day is worth it.

Rant over, sorry....

Cadmus

Don’t worry, Cadmus, rant is acceptable. I am absolutely fuming at this point. It’s not bad enough that they state it will be a Heresy only event, then change their mind after the cut off for refunds and make it Heresy and Friends, now the books not on offer.

It makes me think ‘what exactly am I getting for this £75 I paid?’.

I’ll just end up getting some Crimson Paladins and starting some BA no doubt! Le sigh

Anuj confirmed that the White Scars ARE in book 8. He said so in the 30k White Scars Facebook group. But I wouldn’t expect models for a while.

I’m as surprised as everyone else over the lack of Malevolence. All the previous news sounded pretty good - we heard from Anuj when he had finished writing his part of the book, before he was allowed to work on the FAQs that we got, and we had heard it was the printers. The Age of Darkness podcast suggested that the inclusion of Necromunda seminars might be filler to make up for session removed from the Weekender when they realized the book wouldn’t be ready.

As someone salty over the regional pricing thing, I’m just going to keep sitting on the sidelines without buying anything.

But if you did buy a ticket, I’d try to think of it as paying for access to have a conversation with FW staff. For the sake of the fandom, make good use of that time! Ask the hard questions. Being able to buy the book a little earlier than everyone else was never worth 75 pounds.

Have you seen the movie Troy?

That's how he stabs with his sword.

Instead of jumping forward he is smashing from above to the ground, though.

But it's aaaaaall about stabbing along the clavicle through the heart. Precise and efficient way to kill someone.

At least that's what I've been told by various historical sources.

The only things I've killed where chances with tha ladies when I was a teenager. ;)

Regarding the WS inclusion in Malevolence, we could check whether this old Warhammer Community post gets deleted (or amended to drop the WS)

Post dates to June 2018

They aren't going to amend or delete a WHC article 7 months later. We're talking about Games Workshop not Stalin's Russia. Anuj (Forge World writer who has worked on Malevolence) confirmed on Facebook 8 hours ago that White Scars are in Malevolence. All is well.

That's good to hear. About deleting posts, I thought they might pull something like that because of what you said in another thread:

"The issue with Necromunda being at the HH Weekender is that they explicitly stated on their Facebook in a (now deleted) post that they had taken on board the community's feedback and made it a Heresy-only event. It's disrespectful and dishonest. They should just do a Necromunda/Specialist Games weekender/open day instead or openly label the HH Weekender as such if they're no longer producing enough content to fill a weekend with seminars about 30k."

Ah, fair enough. I think there's a gulf between deleting a Facebook post and combing through past WHC releases with selective editing however. They've done the dirty on Facebook in this way numerous times but never to the best of my knowledge on WHC. In any case, with White Scars in the book, no such revisionism will be necessary

I don't get it, they delayed the book 8 like 12+ months at this point... Has Speciality games truly gutted their ability to delver a stuff on a reasonable timeline?

They said it is done and painted but not available at this weekend.

It's right around the corner.

Yes I have, great film, from what I remember he holds his sword with his elbow angled much further back with the flat of the blade facing up/down. Perhaps if sangunius looked like that it would look alright! Also, Troy is fighting with a short sword.....

Gorgoff, I always admire your eternal 30k optimism (it is sorely needed at the moment!), although I’m not sure we can apply realism in the context of a Giant flying angel. Happy to be proved wrong by seeing the sculpt 360!

Cadmus

You'r right.

He DOES hold the sword differently.

Hm.

But I have seen it somewhere.... can't remember where. Drives me nuts that it doesn't come back where I've seen it.

Anyway, I like it. It's very stabby to me and I like stabby. We'll see tomorrow but for me it looks like he is about to jump at someone WAY bigger than himself. The palm of his left hand shows that too. As if he is about to grab a hold and begin stabbing.

TSCHUKTSCHUKTSCHUK

You know? :)

Edit: I love those Deathsworn.

Their Power Axes seem to be a nod to the old second edition ones. :D

Please confirm, is that from the stream? When you say "painted" you actually mean "printed"?

Ehrm yes, printed it is. :D

Sorry my bad.

Or did they?

I seriously doubt it and, unless Malevolence is up to sale this month I will suspect they are just lying. Forgive me the bile, but I think their (arrogant) lack of transparency, :cuss on feedback and constant excuses just drive me crazy. Any other company behaving like this would lost it's customers (like computer games), thankfully for FW we're all bunch of addicts that can't part with our resin crack. I hope they will get a grip soon.

For real. I work in games and this is the sort of stuff you avoid doing at all costs. I get that a lot of this was caused by somebody deciding FW was responsible for specialist games and to staff those up vs the heresy, but its been a complete mess of a transition.

For those wondering, Malevolance is currently on a boat from China to the UK (I can't help but notice that this was also the situation two years ago when Inferno was released). Apparently in the Weekender booklet it will have a timeframe for its general release (we don't have it yet because we're not allowed to have it until tomorrow, for some reason) - but the timeframe of March has been floating around from staff.

No doubt we will hear more tomorrow.

The pose is the Guardia Alicorno, as for the book being late, there are smaller games companies that get small numbers of the book shipped by air specially for the reveal event's and have the rest on the slow boat for general release 1-3 months later (yes they sometimes get a special low volume print done just to do it)

Saw comments on Garro's facebook from one or two guys saying that a girl from the staff said "Mid March" for Malevolence ( which I now see is echoed by our very own Mr. P).

Hopefully the booklet will confirm it then.

Scions of the Emperor anthology looks good.
