Fantastic work. You've done a great job at converting these models and making sure they properly represent the character descriptions.

Any plans to paint the alien quarry of these bold Imperial heroes?

Thank you!  Yes, they are all painted up as well.  They will be part II.

Drooling in anticipation. :)

Sooooo good. I envy your writing and creativity. My head cannon usually sounds like a twelve year old’s power trip. Painting fantastic as well. Excellence!

Thank you! But I can't take credit for the writing.  These are pages from the campaign book in the Deathwatch: Overkill board game, as well as the supplemental material for running Scions and Excis from White Dwarf.  I decided that I wanted to scale up everything to Primaris sized figures because I wanted them to tower over the cultists on the board, and though it would be a fun project.  I've run this campaign with several friends, with the Inquisitor scenario being a custom insert based on the White Dwarf scion rules, as well as the Excis team as narrative flashbacks when the Chaegryn's servo skull is recovered by KT Cassius.

Looks very nice.

What is your technique for the grim dark armor?

Are you using some glazing on the top of the black?

Are the battle damage done with grey or metal?

Thank you. No glazing. I do a very rough and aggressive dry brushing of dark and light greys over the entire model as the very fist step after priming. I then go back and clean up any bits that need it, apply black, brown and blue washes randomly, and also precisely in certain recesses. I also do some fine brush edge highlighting and a final light dry brush of a very bright metal. Definitely not an exact science!

Dry brushing is a great technique, if your ask me. So long as you apply it in the right way.  I like to break up the flat texture of the armor and it helps with that.  Although, that is just a first pass.  I still do regular highlighting too.

Awesome stuff, really enjoyed looking through these.

Its a shame Branatar is so small compared to his Primaris friends.

Thanks so much!  Re: Branatar, I actually thought about redoing him as a Aggressor equipped with flamers, but I decided the model looks fine and sized pretty much the same as the Primaris dudes, just proportioned differently.  But he definitely isn't the huge hulking figure of the group anymore, for sure.
