Daggers in the Dark - Magpie Knight's Night Lords

Recommended Posts

I've just got settled in from moving and have quit my 60 hour a week, stressful job to go back to school full time. Currently I find myself with a lot more hobby time on my hands. I am going to post pictures all of my most recent models and put the finishing touches on my unfinished models.

I'll also use this thread to document my progress on my upcoming ETL vows.

First up is my converted Chaos Lord with jump pack and lightning claws. He is kit bashed from the Blood Angels jump Chaplain and Warp Talon bits. I also painted up his angel wings as magpie feathers. (In my warband's lore he is known as a scavenger of both equipment and Astartes.)

And here are some shots of my dreadnought with spikes helbrute. His DCCW is painted sinner's red because I thought being interred in a dreadnought for eternity would be a fun punishment for someone. As soon as I finished painting it I realized that at first glance he looks like a renegade Crimson Fist. Oh well.

@Marbas Thanks. I've never gotten the hang of converting with greenstuff outside of filling gaps. Kitbashing on the other hand I'm much more comfortable with.

Your conversions are simple but effective, I like them! Especially the Dreadnought. Where did you get the wings for the faceplate?

Thanks. Those wings were from the finecast Night Lords helmets GW sells on their main site. I've got a bunch of them sitting around since I mostly just use the shoulder pads.

Here is a group shot of my favorite kitbashes I've done so far. I made these berzerkers out of the raptor bodies and legs with the rubble cut away, some old CSM backpacks, the Nostraman chainglaives from Forgeworld as counts-as chainaxes, and an Escher mohawk for the champ.
