"Not only that, but you’ll see a showcase of shiny new miniatures that won’t be out for a while yet,** and check out the updated datasheets for the entire range – including a number of, ahem… BRAND-NEW, NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN UNITS!"

Happy to hear about the new units!

Honestly I was furious that this was our 'grand finale BSB' until I read that line.

The other thing I took away is 'miracle dice' instead of FPs and sacred rites instead of acts of faith...

If you go all the way back to the beginning you'd roll a dice for each squad of sisters, for random game-long bonuses that would have little meaningful effect.

Hopefully this isn't a sign of sisters getting nerfed all the way back to 2nd edition on that front.

I mean it's better than a random dice roll for one unit once per phase for a phase long bonus that has no meaningful effect so...

Blessed is the mind, etc.

Your faith will be rewarded, I'm sure.

How negative are people round here! Instead of pure negativity for negativity sake how about some thought out comments

Like maybe ‘not likely but could be a generic saint data sheet’.....

Edit - I’ve been pessimistic my self about this release but trying to keep an open mind

I consider 'maybe they spent resources on more fricken saints rather than something that could fill in the gaps inherent to the army's small unit count' to be a pessimistic thought tbh. Edited by ERJAK

Oh good someone else notice how toxic this community has become.

Since the Squat video last year it feels like it has been dial up past 11.

There is nothing to be pessimistic about.

The box is going up for pre-order on Saturday, and we are going to get to read the codex 14 days later.

I love long-haul GW. I really do believe they have found themselves. Let me explain:

I have hated new editions in every game I've ever played. I had always wanted to see what happen if any game ever got brave enough to just expand forever, rather than occasionally hit the reset button, and redo everything they had already done, setting the development curve behind by decades. Every game does it.

In the late 80's Rogue Trader was obscure, and textually dense- inspirational, but somewhat hard to actually play- you really had to fill in a lot of your own blanks in those days. So I welcomed 2nd- played it hard and loved it. It was a bit cumbersome with all the parries and fumbles and scatter and templates... Don't get me wrong, I loved that game. What I'm trying to say is that even though I LOATHE edition spam, I was okay with 3rd, because Dark Eldar and Witch Hunters.

But when edition spam didn't stop after that, GW lost me. It was only Sisters and Genestealer Cults that brought me back.

Eighth has been a whirlwind, and and I've seen a lot of negativity- not as much here as elsewhere. I've seen people predicting 9th or wanting it. But this, this right here is why I'm so glad there's no 9th in sight and I hope there never is. Not only did they update the army, they're actually giving us new stuff! I've gotta keep my expectations reasonable, but everything is back in play. Heck, we are even getting an SoS Character in February, and the amount of Naysaying after that WD Dex was heavy- I even had a knee jerk reaction as I recall.

But now, all is right with the world. Given time, this game is going to give us everything we want; it may take a few years, and it may be pre-released as part of an overpriced box months before individual kits get released... But it will come. The bulk of that work, for us and the factions to which we are integral, will be done this year. I'm looking forward to every fight, from  Kill Team to Apocalypse. Give me retinue characters in WD and I'll take the Sisters to the Blackstone Fortress too.

We broke Vandire upon the anvil of our Emperor's Wrath.

I say let the witches awaken. We will be ready.

Its been a long road waiting.   I am glad they are finally going to be released.  I am not as excited for them as I was last year, but that is mostly because I really haven't been playing 40k for like the past year and a half.   Still.....I will buy them. I will be happy for them. I will be getting around to painting them, even if I don't end up playing with them.  Who knows maybe sisters will help me get back to playing 40k.   Right now, I think the weariness on the patience of waiting, and then they release a snap fit box just to uphold their promise of sisters being released in 2019, just for us to wait till next year sometime for the rest is like a little bit of a slap to the face.  Its like...hey they punched us in the gut and said...hey be happy with what you get, we promised you sisters not specifically the entire new line.   But hey...  We are getting our girls, just tired of being strung along and ready to get my hands on the models.   So not trying to be negative...I am happy I can finally start on that long awaited plastic sisters army, because I wasn't going to reinvest in the old metal models for a 5th time.

I tend to think of it as releasing a limited edition set of models. In another 10 years, the separate kits will still be on the shelf, but this box is a limited time deal. It's a value add, not a dark conspiracy. And yes, I get that many would have prefered to have the full release now, but I see it as getting more and special stuff, so I'm stoked.

Never thought it would change to be honest... its a boltgun at the end of the day with a small buff against psykers.

It's a stormbolter that only works against psykers. It has literally no reason to exist beyond finding yourself with a single point left at the end of your list.

Disagree with the thought that is a stormbolter equiv...... its rapid fire 1 not 2 ...:p

Agree that its not worth it for 1 point.... unless they do a unit /character cost of 0/1 (then Sister Superiors or Celestians with them could be a thing  :) )  OR if other rules change like Sisters get strats that allow them to target characters with the psyker keyword even when they arent the closest....

Honestly I was furious that this was our 'grand finale BSB' until I read that line.

Was this the 'Grand Finale BSB' though?

I mean every BSB has the title Battle Sister Bulletin - Part XX: XXXX, has the title banner & is in the BSB list (https://www.warhammer-community.com/battle-sister-bulletin/)

Or do WHC just need to tidy up their web team and learn to close things off properly :p

I started thinking about that after I read through the article again and I believe the last BSB will likely be Friday and will be showing off those NEW NEVER BEFORE SEEN MODELS before the codex spoils them.

Maybe sacred rites are the priestly chaplain/dark apostle buff equivalents.

Extremely likely, I dare say. Just so GW doesn't have to think too hard about novel mechanics, just give everyone same rules with a new name (aka business as usual in 8e).

So hopefully there's more to this whole Miracle dice/sacred rights thing because 2 dice per turn in exchange for not even having the anemic AoFs we had before sucks and sacred rites don't seem anywhere near as good as just being able to bring a knight. AND it's random what dice you get? Wow, these are terrible.

It's unlikely the models in this kit are going to disappear any time soon. Even when the army set itself does, they'll pop up in "start collecting" or similar boxes eventually despite being exclusive to this box at first. 10 years, who knows. They are beautiful models regardless, I just wish they weren't overpriced.
