Some more Inductii-like Breachers in Mk. V - the shields were a right pain to flatten out, and they're held in front of the body rather than to the side, so they don't work well with the stock "across the chest" pose marine arms come in...which is most of the reason why I had one guy built and the rest sitting with a pin in their left shoulder for half a year.

Finished up a pair of rhinos I've been working on for months. It's been ages since I've posted, and it feels weird. HH2.0 wasn't a thing last time I had actively participated on B+C! 

Feels nice. Lightbox is back up and running, so I figured i'd shoot these. Somehow, I only have 3 rhinos in my 6-8,000 points of Night Lords. So strange! I should get some more... but maybe in a bit.

Vheren Ashurhaddon is now temporary out of stock in FW. So, I decided to make my own version of him...

I want to add some more few little details. Maybe a small chain with coins and a blade. And a topknot in the helmet, of course!:sweat:

Had a silly idea for a "tainted" weapon for a corrupted Word Bearers character. I'm probably going to smooth out the little exposed muscle(?) bits to make it less Tyranid-y but other than that does it work?

I think the segmented plates are still gonna be a bit tyraniddy as is.

The hook hand as a concept is cool though! 

My thoughts would be consider using more varied parts before tackling it with greenstuff. Like maybe chop off the hand/claw, and replace it with the blade of an axe head, or even a generic scything talon, then add some sharp (tyranid?) teeth to the side of the blade, then blend it in. Citadel skulls is a great kit for this if you have it.

 

Like Galvorbak weapons. Maybe have them up as reference. It'll make your models match up better visually I think.

Some itsy-bitsy Shadow Crusade Night Lords and Word Bearers (I had another stand of the WB but it fell off my desk and did that thing small pieces do where instead of bouncing, it teleported to a random location in my room - I expect I'll find it under my pillow or somewhere equally ridiculous in half a week's time).

 

@ GarvielEisenhorn I like it. I think the key to making it not look like a transplanted nid arm is the painting, although you might also consider putting some chains or spikes or other greebles on it, like the Bladeslaves' swords.


On the gaming front, my pal's recently minted Blood Angels stumbled into the wrong neighbourhood in today's ZoMo and got whacked hard by the inexorable XIV.

You painted actual lightning and skull faces on 6mm marines - hats off to you! And yes, LameBeard’s law of dropping things off the desk applies: start looking  the opposite side of the room. Maybe even in another room. And in your trouser turn-ups.

Very cool idea, kind of reminds me of when Lucius was using a Megarachnid limb as a sword on the planet Murder.

Been working on some Iron Warriors for about a year now. Going for a fast attack list, thematically centered around a small company that was dismissed post decimation by Perturabo. Having anchored themselves to a Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus fleet, they wear the sea green as a spot color, and fight like their cousins more so than the rest of the fourth. 

Here's some veterans, armed with shotguns, charnabal blades (gladiuses), and three veterans are dual claw wielding maniacs, the Sargeant is a hot head who loves to get his boys up close.

A great looking collection you have there. Prints I assume? The proportions seem a bit like some I have seen. I enjoy the gritty paintjob you've given them, and it is always fun to see shotguns used. Don't think I have ever run across them in the flesh. The amount of pouches, grenades and bits on them is also very striking, giving them a more ready-to-roll aesthetic.

 

I'm looking at repurposing some of my assembled Alphas - in the HH craze, I just wanted to make a unit of everything, however I think this isn't feasable from an actually having time to paint stuff sense, and the army will spiral out of control!

 

I assembled an assault squad for my alphas, as well as an assault destroyer squad. These are currently undercoated leadbelcher, however I'm thinking about spraying them red to go into a Blood Angels heresy army, and build heresy armies along themes, as opposed to one of everything.

 

Alpha Legion: I'd initially thought of these as a ship to ship boarding, or siege breaking force, so wanted breachers, etc.

Blood Angels: Biblical and of days DoR phosphex party with destroyers, Angels Tears etc. Assault marines would fit there.

 

That said, destroyers are awesome, and I'd get to use them more with my Alphas than I would with the BA, who are a secondary army in HH. Is it worth adding an assault squad to the Alphas anyway, for variety, or stick with the theme? The packs are magnetised so they could always be despoilers also. 

 

How do you build an army - collect them all, tactical value of models, theme, or all three?
