And agreed, the Xiphon is a looker (Hello inspired by Vipers from BS:G).

 

A Lightning might be better rules wise but the Xiphon wins out with me for just looking cooler.

My night lord one is just a viper lol. Tends to be way cheaper as well.

So my local hobby store has upped the points to 2500 so now I've added some more things like a Contemptor, Damocles command tank and now torn between a Xiphon (because they're AWESOME as you have already been discussing) or a squad of jetbikes. Anyone have experience of either? So far there are Ultramarines (me), Sons of Horus, Salamanders, White Scars and possibly Blood Angels or Imperial Militia in our group.

 

Also how does a Techmarine with augury scanner work? Would it only allow his servitors to intercept deep strikers or can he let nearby units do it? I haven't played heresy for years so I'm very rusty.

Apothecary can join units with an augury scanner and are nearly always the cheapest/best way to get interceptor.

 

I use jetbikes extensively and have found them useful in nearly every game.

Jetbikes are really solid picks. Excellent for harassing, and if carry and transportation is something important to you, easier to move than a flyer. Though... the Xiphon is one hell of a model!

Cheers dude I'll drop the scanner from him, he's going to camp behind the Laser Vindicator tanks just to make sure they don't explode anyway. I'm going to print some jetbikes for a friend so once I iron out the issues I may have some for myself - they're roughly the same in ££ as the Xiphon!

Thanks it's quite a bit darker in real life, my phone always does this with colours - it's just maccrage blue spray, drakenhof wash (hefty) then calgar blue small highlights. Working on his Suzerain backup now hopefully they turn out alright.

I ordered a mark iv command squad a couple of weeks ago and the banner had a literal hole in. Just got a refund rather than a replacement as the item is "no longer available". Maybe that kit is actually dead. Heard alot of people complain about it.
