I'd wait a month and a half and read it yourself... I wouldn't trust what the App says to be honest...they're not going to put new rules into it yet...

I hope the silent king and the Monolith are not in the "I gotta save for months to get :dry.: " price range...

This game is getting pricier every year.... (first world problem ...I know, just sayin)

Cheers, Mithril

I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't have a console/ PC so this is my only hobby and I'm beginning to wince at the new prices of stuff...

I feel you dude. I'd sold a ton of stuff earlier March/ April for Indomitus. I had a load but it's been frittered somewhat.

Think my repulsors will be going at this rate. Ideally I'd like:

Codex

Silent king

2 monoliths

3 lokhusts

Cron scenery

Marine floaty tank

That's going to cost a fortune I fear...

but yeah being serious, once you stop living at home with mummy and daddy, get married have kids etc etc this hobby seems to get really out of your price range...

lucky you don't have any vices...   my only other one is a PS4 ...and buying stuff for my son :biggrin.:

Parenting isn't cheap lol. We've got two kids and they do eat a lot of cash - as they should :)

First world problems but I "only" do 40k and AoS too. I can't imagine what it's like playing other GW/ non GW stuff too.

Still, back on track I'm very excited for the new codex and the Crusade content in there and the new supplement. October should be a lot of fun!

rough price geuss

silent king~$150

monolith ~$100

scenery~$115

void dragon~$150

assassin destroyer~$35

doomsday walker~$80

Probably a close estimate. I want 2-3 of the doomsday walkers and 3+ of the lokuhst plus the dragon and silent king at least. I have committed to finishing my Indomitus box before I buy any more. . .I guess we will see how deep my commitment goes in a few weeks lol :whistling:

I am almost done the marine half so the Crons are next.

I think the DDA will still be the competitive choice. While the 5++ in the Doomstalker is nice, the lack of quantum shield makes it a big target for lascannon/melta like weapons. That’s assuming quantum shielding stays the same.

Agreed. Unless quantum shielding is really changed, the DDA is better than the walker. On the other hand I HATED assembling and painting my DDA and Ghost Ark and I refuse to do another. The walker wins on rule of cool but as things stand now I'm not sure you'll see them in tournament lists.

All this is subject to change when the codex drops.

Mostly will depend on its points. Marine infantry going to 2W makes Gauss Arrays on DDAs less useful. I feel the Doomsday Cannon will receive an ability since they still have random shots and damage. If it gets something like roll 2D6, pick highest, then I'd consider either one. As of now, they aren't in my current list builds.

If I get anything it'll be a walker. I've seen enough comments about how challenging the DDA is that I can't be bothered with it.

I'm intrigued as to whether monoliths will be heavy support or super heavy choices. If they remain heavy support then I don't wish to run a brigade for 2k. As such 2 monoliths and 3 lokhusts would be my heavy support generally speaking.

01RTB01  Ya, When I built my Doom/Ghost Ark I just used contrast paint to avoid days spent edge highlighting.

I completely share your thoughts on the monolith. A necron Brigade doesn't seem feasible. Especially when trying to shove 270 or 540 points of monolith in it.

HO BOY if you haven't been looking check out this WC article for all the Necron goodness that just got flashed. I can't even process this right now :laugh.:

I'll be going Destroyers and Flayed Ones with this collection for sure. These models are a great throwback to the old Wraiths and Flayed Ones.

I am really liking all of the new crons! I need to get painting on my Indomitus crons!

Oof baboof, they really saved the best for last!  Those Crypteks are phenomenal.  The Flayed Ones are, IMO, a perfect replacement - more horrifying and well executed.  The Ophydians are also really cool, but I wonder what point the Skorpekhs serve if these guys are faster, deep striking and have the same weapons.  I guess we will see.

The rules previewed look good.  I wonder if the Silent King will actually be as tough as they're saying or if that's their all-too-familiar hyperbolic crap.

Heh. I had a feeling they would leave out discussing RP. But wow, what a drop. Great work by GW. If for some reason they were holding back one more kit and it was pariahs....then perfection. But as it stands, going broke before the end of the year hah.

Can't wait.

Didn't realise any Gallifreyans went through bio transference!

I'm going to have to reponder my October purchases I think. Silent king may be left for Christmas, flayed ones, chronomancer, orphydian destroyers, monolith(s) and lokhusts... Eesh!

Hoping we can take flayed ones as troops so that we can take a full destroyer cult force.
